Yep. Whether I'm a happy member or not is another thing altogether.

Yes unconditionally. We get our chance to voice our disapproval at the AGM. Yes the club seems like it's being run by nongs but it's still the club I love.

The Carlton Football Club has given me enormous enjoyment through out the seventies, eighties and nineties and I'm not going to throw in the towel despite how difficult things are at the moment.

I go and watch most training sessions and still with the season finished a few of us catch up in the social club every Wednesday afternoon talking about the good old days and sorting out the problems of the world, Carlton of course. If you are around MC Park drop in.

Just a couple of genuine questions hopefully someone can answer.

Would part of my membership dollar go towards the players' end-of-season trip? Player wages?

Does making a donation (by purchasing Carlton memorabilia) have the same effect as (interstate) membership?

I must admit I'm surprised how many are voting that they will not renew. Each to their own I guess.

Yes. Why?

Because my eyes have seen the glory - and if I should live to 100, renewing my membership each year (as I surely will) - I will still be in debt to this great club, for enriching my existence.

A pox on those who would dance on Carlton's grave.

A pox on the rats in the ranks - within and without the corridors of power.

A pox on you Demetriou - and you Smith.

And a pox on those who would rather curse the darkness than light a candle.

I love this football club.

There will be a codocil in my will that will instruct my descendents to keep purchasing a membership in my name.

There is also another codocil in my will instructing my descendents to visit the grave of Andrew Demetrispew on Black Friday (November) and deposit certain bodily substances on it as they see fit.

I see most of them haven't given their reasons why. We've had more maybes than nos at this stage.

its nice to see the board in almost full agreement on something :)
