At about 11.30am on Ch10 from memory...not too much fuss at all. Compared to last year anyway. They just showed a couple of the finalists, then the winner. Was finished in 2 minutes.

Wow.

Reported in today's Age also...

Betts' goal provides Blues' bright spot
Quote:
Carlton goalsneak Eddie Betts has produced another bright spot in a mostly dismal season for the Blues, taking out the AFL's goal of the year award…

Ottens took Mark of the Year.

"the use of a Toyota Aurion for a year".

Great win eddie. I'm predicting that's going to be one hammered car.

Well done to Eddie - that goal deserved to the #1 for 2006. It showed skill and flair under a lot of pressure. More please!

Well done Eddie! Another good thing in a sour year!

The goal and bump.

Good work Edward...more of the same next year, and hopefulyl a bit more time in the midfield.

Just out of interest...why hasn't the Carlton website got an article on it yet? Definitely something to celebrate.

Gee Ottens will appreciate that :lol:

Well done Eddie you little champ.
Nice to get it against Collingwood too...a bit of a square up for Mcguane's in 94.

worst prize ever, I am sure the previous winners actually won something that they could keep.

I dunno, I'd thrash the absolute beejezus out of it for a year. That would be fun.

Same. The wouldn't be a straight panel left on it once I'd done with it.

Ottens MOTY?

I thought Kerr's and Yze's crapped all over his.

Bredan's sprint victory and Coleman medal and Eddies goal of the year -

These little triumphs are all good portents that point to a better future than most people would believe right now.

So much for being sponsors....

Toyota are a pack of scabby shits!

Quote:
Eddie will receive;
* A crystal replica of the official, perpetual Toyota AFL Goal of the Year,

* The Phil Manassa Medal,

* The use of a Toyota Aurion for 12 months and

* $10,000 for Eddie’s grassroots Club, presented by Toyota

If I was Eddie, I'd do my best to make sure that the Aurion barely made it back to Toyota Head Office in one piece after the 12 months.

Now KK, we've been through this

We do NOT want Michael Gardiner at the club! :lol:

I would have thought $50 thousand would be a reasonable prize for goal of the year, meaning that Eddie would get a car outright and ten thousand for his club.
