Ok..I have some inside info but please don't tell anyone....

The new ticket is loaded with former Carlton premiership legends.
They will tip in heaps of cash
Some of the games will be back at PP which under City of Melb sponsorship will be called "Prince's Park" again
The "clash" jumper will be revoked
Every Carlton member will be entitled to attend board meetings and all ideas will be acted on
The Social club at PP is geting expanded and there will be "free piss Tuesdays"....
For games at the Dome, Pies and Chips will be free for Carlton members and beers will be $1 a pot and served in glass pots.
You'll be allowed to run onto the ground at 1/4, 3/4 time and after the game....and if Fev kicks more than 4.....

Getting the picture.....

Polititians....promise anytrhing ...get yourself in...no-one cares once you're there.....

I don't want to hear these stupid popularist "promises" we need a legit plan for the future that is "broadcast" properly.....

BUT unfortunately the " one line grab" still works and still sucks people into voting for jokers

I can understand why wealthy backers might not want to tip in $$$ if they are not confident that it will be put to good use by the board. This year there was a stack of average punters called 'former members' that did exactly that. You dont get to be a wealthy benefactor in the 1st place by throwing your $$ into organisations that are poorly run and devoid of any new ideas.

With our huge latent supporter base and talented youth stocks there is no doubt that the blues have loads of potential. If you were a serious investor you'd look for positive change to management to kick start radical changes to turn the place around. There might be truth to Jack's musings, it certainly makes sense, i guess only time will tell.

Going back to PP ... now thats funnny.... (I thought youd believe it Surrey)

Ok its no secret the money people and the old Carlton money are Elliot supporters and also alot of them are anti Smorgo.

Smorgo is not a personality that puts his own hand in his pocket very easily nor does he inspire others to do so.

There is an old story about Elliott conducting an auction for the club . someone had donated a Donald Bradman signed cricketbat.. things were slow.... so big Jack was eyeing off a few of our more wealthy supporters for it. They were looking away... one of which was smorgon... anyway Jack just knocked the bat do3wn to Smorgo at what was probably a world record bid.. (maybe not but you get the gist)

thats how Jack operated and people loved it because he knew how to squeeze money for the club.. until his rorting and alcohol made people avoid him like the plague.

People like Kerr and others kept pumping in huge amounts regardless.

Jack had that effect on people...

Don't believe it at all Synbad.
It would however be the most logical/profitable thing Carlton could do, therefore it won't happen so I'll just keep watching us un-ravel.
As for FTA exposure @ TD etc etc etc ... how is that going by the way, is 2007 going to be any different for CARLTON. :P

Looks like every game might be FTA next year Surrey.

As for returning games to PP, Wes Lofts was on about the same thing a few weeks ago. Why on earth would we refurbish the ground to acceptable current standards in order to provide a venue for 3 events of about 28,000 people each per year?

And where would our new development fit if you had to keep all the stands?

Yesterday's men.

There are big probs with relying on donations to run a club. Obviously at present we need big bucks to get rid of Honest John's debt, but when he was running the club he relied far too much on big supporters putting in big dough and ignored the challenge of growing the revenue streams. Our membership fell well behind our main competitors and our affluence was false as it was not based on reliable revenue streams. Collingwood and Essendon* and even Hawthorn (own there own social club on land worth several mill) had/ have assets that are non football and bring in steady revenue regardless of ladder position.

Not saying honest John is crooked but he could go to sleep in a trumpet (albeit a very large trumpet).

Now we need big instant cash because of the woeful management of Elliott and his failure to match the management of our rivals
