If Crosisca comes back, how different will it be to having Elshaug? Another former Pagan assistant who hasn't coached then (or has he?).

The players will love this...

Are we even trying to talk to decent assistants?

What does the club have against satisfying the masses?... I'd like to see a story in the press saying that "Carlton officials have reportedly spoken to Voss, however it is believed that his asking price was beyonf the clubs current financial position".

Give me something to suggest that we're not just sitting back waiting for easy options...

Vossy isn't happening this year at least:

Voss has been linked with several assistant coaching roles, but while he was unsure what the future held for him, he was certain that he would not be coaching anywhere next season

Never, say never. We should be going after Voss bloody hard I reckon. Entice him with the hcallenge and the fantastic opportunity to enhance his reputation even further.

Kapt Kouta,

IIRC Clem is right. The Lions had to get special permission for Voss's payout to not affect their salary cap if he retired. Was reported in the Herald Sun a couple of weeks ago and I believe the figure mentioned was $1m.

Apparently its now OK to pay players outside the cap when they retire

Special permission from the AFL stipulated that Brisbane had to keep Voss as a listed player next year so that his payment could be included in next year's salary cap instead of this year's.

So they'll be one player down on their list then, I take it?

Crosisca went to Collingwood after being at North...and coached North Ballarat last year or the year before?

Hardly makes him a Pagan sycophant....Maybe someone who is looking at widening his coaching experience, and Pagan rates his abilities enought to hire him again.

Yep.
Reasonable way to honour his massively back-ended contract. They'll pay him as a veteran next year instead of having to find a way to fit double the amount into this year's cap.

Would like him at CFC as an example for the young 'uns, and for some different ideas.
I'm a bit worried about Denis only considering blokes who seem to be less likely to threaten his position. Understandable if true given events of the past month, but unhelpful for CFC nonetheless.

By keeping him on the list they can claim half his salary under the veteran rule and so only half his pay out is counted in their cap.

That is, assuming he is actually actively searching for only those kind of people as assistants.

Pagan left North and took Elshaugh but he left Crosisca behind.
North didnt want Crosisca and sacked him.
Crosisca then went to Hawthorn and was sacked.

http://www.realfooty.theage.com.au/real ... m=storyrhs

He tried for another assistants job but couldnt get one.
North Ballarat then picked him up.
If I was writing a job description for a non threatening yes man, I'd be pretty happy with this one. I can see why Denis is keen.

So much for the comprehensive, external review many of us were hoping for. Instead we conduct an internal review and dont even have the guts to see that through.

I know Denis is a lovely bloke and he has all the right intentions etc but in my opinion, his dictatorial approach and stubborness is indicative of yesterdays man and is slowly sucking the life out of the club.

Pagan is only allowed to choose one.

What a pathetic, weak gutted decision.
The status quo will remain. Pagan and his ex assistant Crosisca will take over where Pagan/Elshaugh left off.

The other assistants can sit up the back and shut up.
What a huge shake up, hey?

Chase Michael Voss. Chase him hard. I don't care if he's said no. Ask him again. Then if he says no a second time, ask him again. Keep asking him, keep challenging him until we're absolutely certain that no means no!

Adding Crosisca would be a joke IMO.

I agree. This is a man who demands respect, and who could also take over if Den gets the Arce next year when we're 0-7.
