If some people are the same supporters in real life they are on here I'd be staying right away from them at the footy. Conversely, there's a bunch of people on here (danny, Deano, KK, Jarusa, some prick et al) who I've had a heap of fights with who I imagine I would really like to have at my side during a game to cheer on the Blues.

Then there are others who give every indication they would love to see Carlton dead and burried just so they can say "I told you so". Losers.

I appreciate that, Verbs. I know we haven't seen eye-to-eye on everything (hell, let's be honest...most things), but I know it's (mostly) not personal, it's about the club.

Well I don't treat nor take anything on here personally, and will continue not to until it actually does impact on my personal life (which it never will). I just don't get how telling someone they have no clue, they're in lala land, they're not a realist, they have their head in the sand, and so on, can be justified. The answer is it can't, and like I said to Effes before, it's all a matter of opinion, or as bondi put it, your own individual perspective. Brow beating others to conform with your own views is very old fashioned....Victorian in nature.

Now all you cauliflower better agree with what I just wrote, otherwise none of you have got a clue.

you may wish to reconsider verbs, even my brothers wish to avoid me at the football, though my son stays loyal - so far

Are they Carlton supporters?

I once had to apologise to a bunch of women for saying "things" about some of the Brisbane Lions players...you can't be *much* worse than me. 8)

What exactly is there to be positive about?
This concept of staying positive and thinking positive without implementing changes is so "football" and such amatuer bullshit..Look at the "positives"?? What F@$%^ positives? What a crock of SHIT.
What positives?
We have finished last 2 years running, we now have 3 wooden spoons when 5 years ago we didnt have any, and it seems we are yet to reach rock bottom.Disaster after disaster and clowns come on here with theis tooth fairy mentality of staying poisitive.

If you were running a business and recording a loss every year, do you stay positive or do you completely overhaul the day to day activites (or alternatively close the doors) of the business?
Crock of shit...stay positive? There are no positives.Short of closing our doors the place needs a complete overhaul because as a business we are a disaster. The ASX has halted trading in our shares months ago and we are yet to come to them and the shareholders with a viable alternate plan.
We are a disaster of a club , but keep your F$%^& N sugar coated blue glasses on.

I log on to TC every single day, it is my homepage at my laptop in my house. I read through every single new post each day, no matter how long it takes me.

My missus and i have even had arguments....
"You are on that bloody talking carlton website again aren't you......how about spending some quality time with me rather than talking about a F@%&#! football club on the internet"

I love Carlton Football Club, no matter what. But one thing is really giving me the shits...

Every single day when i log on here i am greeted with flood after flood of negative posts about how poorly the club is run, how bad the coach is, how Dude poor our management of the playing list is, how poor our gameplan is, how poor our facilities are, how bad the seating is for social club members, how poor our finances are, how the AFL screwed us etc etc etc...

I understand people are angry, i understand people are entitled to an opinion, i understand that people want change, i understand that things could be much much better, but lets not forget that although we are at the bottom of the ladder, things could be much much worse....

I am so sick and tired of logging on here every day and reading everyone's posts bagging the club. This football club needs our support, as i said, i understand that people are entitled to an opinion, but for christs sake, there is opinions and then there is just plain sticking the knife in.

At a time in our clubs history where we are arguably at our lowest ebb, the club NEEDS our support, the players don't find it easy to run out there every week and get a beating, im sure denis doesnt go to bed at night thinking, ah my job is done, Carlton are languishing.

I'm sure Graham Smorgon isn't sitting down for a cuppa with his missus laughing about how bad Carlton's off field status is at the moment.
I'm sure Lance, Kouta, Fev and Murph arent sitting down for a beer on a sunday afternoon saying to eachother how they could have tried harder but they really just couldnt be stuffed.

Dont get me wrong, im not for one second suggesting that we all sit back and say, well as long as we are trying, thats good enough, because it isnt...our status at the moment, on field and off, is nowhere near a standard at which i say is good enough...and it wont be until we are holding the cup up at the end of september.

But for F@%&#! sake, instead of blasting the club at every opportunity, istead of looking at the bad things like Thornton leaving, Livo not performing, Lack of ruck options, Russell laguishing, losing draft picks, how about we read som friggin posts about the positive things happening at our beloved club.

Some of our kids development over the last two years has been amazing. Look at the year from Kade Simpson, look at the year from Brendan Fevola, Look at the year from Ryan Houlihan, Look at the development of Betts. Look at Setanta O' hAilpin, this kid had never picked up a footy a few years ago and in the last game of the season he had the wood over Barry Hall!!!

Look at our recovery from the draft penalties with the kids we picked up last year, already we have seen so much from Marc Murphy and Josh Kennedy and Paul Bower, and we are yet to see what Jake the snake has for us but looks like a real player in the twos.

We have made/are making changes to the coaching panel. A need has been recognised and has been acted on, while it wasnt the change that most people wanted, at least a need for change was recognised.

Look at our policy-Carlton have openly come out and said, no old retreads, we want youth and thats where the future lays.....this happened and people bagged the president for saying it? he is taking a proactive step in securing our future....good on him...

Look at the major redevelopments to optus/princess/mc labour.....at completion of that project we will have arguably one of the best training facilities in the AFL at our disposal.

Low membership numbers?? F@%&#! that, given our position on the ladder and our last 5 years, i think our numbers are respectable. Hawthorn are performing better.... their numbers aren't up to ours, neither are the roo's, neither are the tigers (i dont think)

We have the winner of the coleman medal-a wooden spoon team has the coleman medal winner, we have goal of the year winner, we have a kid who played 13 games and if he played all season would have won the rising star by the length of the princes highway.

We see threads on these things, up to 5 or 6 pages.....we see a sack pagan thread go for 80 pages.

Like i said Carlton football club is at our lowest point ever, we need the support of the fans, we need to unite and show the AFL we cant be beaten, we cant be walked all over and we arent a rabble.

People are saying our board, our club is a rabble, but i personally think it starts and ends with the fans....we need to get behind our club.

While i might not be happy with everything that is happening with my beloved Blues at the moment, while i may not agree with all decisions being made by the club, F@%&#!, i love the Blues, i love everything about the club, and no matter what happens i will always support and love the Blues.

So instead of sinking the knife, lets get behind our club and if the fans themselves have to push these bastards up the ladder ourselves then lets bloody do it.

Dude, listen to your misses, she is 100% correct, why are u wasting hours and hours on a website, there must be better things to do,it just a site, that you read sometimes and post.

He's got it off his chest, and most people probably relate to him. Good on him for spending hours on a website...if it makes him feel good and her bad, then she's got the problem.

He might be working 12 hours a day, with a missus and maybe a kid, and a mortgage, probably eats with her at breakfast and dinner, and washes up, and reads and watches TV together, changes nappies together...and if he feels like spending 3 of his sleeping hours on the net, and it feels better than not doing it ....good on him. He's picked the right door....the feel good door.

Rob, You should hear me at the footy!!!! :)

I just can't get over it, I've searched and searched for enough evidence to justify me getting on here and catching the "we're a rabble disease" But I honestly can't find enough....It's only been 4 years....I'm a very patient person and be buggered if I know anything about running a football club...

Anyway, it would stifle my joy..... I get so much out of footy.

Amen verbs, bnz, TBM.

Excellent.

Sick of supporters hurting the club by degrading the brand. Fine, if you want to criticise and actually do something for the club well and good. But to just sit back and bag the club and not get off your hairy arse to actually help it get off the ground is white-anting pure and simple.

Put up or shut up.

pft....

Everyone here who wants change here prattle on about the need for Ahmed Fahour to be our President (or at least on our board).

Well I work with the NAB (MLC actually) and when he came on board the NAB was crap and moving into steaming dog turd territory.

What did he do?

Well... as well as instigating change, he sold all things positive about the bank to both the employee's and the customers.

I still remember the fortnightly emails he sent out, highlighting any positive thing that had happened.

Ahmed is no fool, he understands that a positive CEO selling the right message will turn the mind set around.

In my oppinion, this is exactly the thing that the club is doing now.

Its getting on the front foot and orchestrating positive media. Its reacting publically and quickly to any bad news (read Thornton) but still painting a positive picture about what is happening.

I think this board HAS taken its time, but is finally righting the ship.

No, I do not think that this is the greatest board in our history, but you know what.... who else has put their hand up for the job?

If a rival ticket it launched at the GM, well I will judge it on its merits and pick the individual members from both the incumbants and the rival ticket.

Until then, I will be trying to stay as positive as possible about the blues.

Question:

Were the rival ticket to succeed in overthrowing the currect board, then balls up the club even further, how many of you will be calling for Fraser Brown's head and wishing Smorgon was back on deck?

It's all well and good to talk, but I'd rather judge them on what they do. The current board is improving...ever so slightly, but improving nonetheless.

Question how do you know a rival ticket is coming from Brown?
Question.. if you get smashed around the head over and over would you be too worried to protect it in case you get hit in the guts????

Why would anyone wish Smorgon would be back on deck????... AFL handouts is his only plan... (its the single mothers handout club)...

We mightnt like the next bloke either but we wouldnt want Smorgon back... due process of elimination.. thats just another guy who wasnt the right guy to bring us back... NEXT!!!

PS Fahour cant do it because we have an 8 million dollar debt to the NAB and it would be deemed a conflict of interest.

But that doesnt mean we should blindly follow like sheep to the abatoirs.

And Jarusa ... the supporters arent the ones hurting the brand of the club... thats nonsense!!!!
