i understand completely what is going on, i understand there is unrest and NO ONE within our organisation bar a few players are doing their job to the best of their ability at the moment, i understand all that.

and @#$%&! you if dont think i am concerned, i am scared as hell about the future of Carlton Football club, it's ridiculous, you are so rapt up in putting your own ideals and values across that you rarely use a bit of insight and actually READ someone's post. I dont just mean looking at the words and thinking they look pretty next to each other, i mean use a bit of nouse and read the post, understand what i am saying...

if you had you would see that i understand exactly what is going on at the club at the moment, i want change as much as the next person, i am concerned for our short and long term future, just like you...

The thing that separates us mate is that unlike you i dont feel the need to knife the club in the back at every opportunity i get....i SUPPORT my club, and while i want change, i understand these things take time, and this, until put to a vote by the members is completely out of my control.

Obviously not yours because as we all know you are right up there in the heirachy and pecking order of the Carlton Football Club so you can a big hand in making those influential decisions, which was evidenced by the day me, fullmont and italian styles saw you at training trying to tlk to sticks who then pretended to be on the phone and rolled his eyes as he walked away...i just feel like the last thing that our club needs at the moment is 30,000 flower taking every opportunity they have to bag the club...

You may like to think you know everything about the club and the situation we are in at the moment, and the fact of that matter may well be that you know more than anyone else on this board. HOWEVER, I find it difficult to believe that you would know every little nuance of the club's situation at the moment and should for some reason go all high and mighty on us.

Why would anyone wish Smorgon back on deck? Continuing the hypothetical of this 'Brown-led' ticket winning before stuffing up - look at the recent history:
Brown - who has just failed
Smorgon - who he replaced
Collins - Smorgon v.0
Elliott - We all know what happened there

Like it or not, were the hypothetical rival ticket to get power, @#$%&! everything up and make us look more of a joke, Smorgon is the best bet from our recent past. OK, fair enough, there may be a new rival ticket featuring The Sexy Squad as the face of the new younger Carlton - hell, I'd vote for that (and I can't believe I just said that ) - but we won't know. At the moment, all anyone on this board is dealing with is HYPOTHETICALS. Simple as that.

As for your response to Jarusa, come on! Look at the piles of negative crap going on around here at the moment. I bet RWO, Nick's and Dockerland aren't full of this sort of shit 24-7-365. Any media nuff going for a browse will look at us eating ourselves and becoming the new Richmond. When the fans are fighting tooth and nail amongst themselves, it hardly paints a pretty picture as an attractive club, does it???

A couple of years back we were at a party & I was watching Carl vs Ess when we won by a point (IIRC, I think it was a friday night game) & she jumped in front of the tv towards the end 'cos I was into it so much..

Holy Bejesus, I nearly lost it then & there!

It is a positive thread BNZ.

The doomsdayers are positive that we need a change right now to change our plight immediately and the rose coloured glasses believe that the list of youth are our foundations for our revival, but that will take time and patience.

I don't know if a new board can change our position overnight, and I don't feel that the current regime has done enough to change the club. I also wonder if a different board was in, and not Smorgon, if they too would not have asked the AFL for a handout. The club needed the money to continue to trade, and that's that...degrading sure, but was the fact of our position.

Sure every team has a list, but I think 10 of our kids are the equivalent or better than all the other teams; the problem for some is that they are only kids. Well that's how life is; baby, child, teenager, adult, man.

In a way, everyone's got their head in the sand:

The doomsdayers can't admit to the positives that are the springboard for future success, until the board and coach are overturned.

The rose coloured glasses don't want to consider that the current board are not going to get us out of the red in the next 5 years.

We are not going under, we are just not progressing as fast as we should to get out of a messy situation we aere in back in 2002; hence the need for change.

Change will do wonders for the doomsdayers, and will be accepted by the rose coloured glasses, so in the near future we'll all barrack for the same team and agree with the board running the joint.

It's crazy however for the doomsdayers to belittle the pure apolitical supporters, given that all the supporters want to do is support their team. There's a better way to express themselves with their political motive than belittling people; that doesn't influence or win fans in any way. In fact what you'll find at the next election is the pure apolitical supporter will vote the current board in, because the alternative approach is a bit on the nose with their attitude towards the masses.
