Said he'd spoken to many clubs re an Assistant's role but would be interested in a position at Carlton. IMO his tone suggested he wasn't holding out hope.

There's no way we should get Rats in as an assistant....

* he has has coaching experience at a number of different clubs

* he knows how the modern game is played

* he is a specialist midfielder

* he loves the club

:(

Too risky for pagan to have Ratten as an assistant. If Brown and his Henchmen get it together it would be easy to swap Ratten in.

Won't happen.

BTW I wish I was one of Brown's Henchmen. I've always wanted to be a henchman.

What is a Hench anyway. I might already be a henchman, I just dont know if I value a hench enough to align my personal values with the philosophy of the hench!

This is the one time we should be hoping for a rat in the ranks.

Uhuh.

Quote:

Melbourne as a midfield coach then a senior role either in the EDFL or a country league I believe... one year at Melbourne no?

Quote:
* he knows how the modern game is played

Are we so sure about this?

Quote:
* he is a specialist midfielder

I agree.

Quote:
* he loves the club

I agree.

Nothing wrong with getting him down for an interview, but to suggest we would be stupid to overlook him is just smothering yourself in the idea that one of the favourite sons returning home will fix everything... kind of like what people were suggesting with Pagan bringing in SOS.

Blind romanticism.

Having met Ratten a few times not blind romanticism maybe slightly miopic romanticism but I'll live with that

Oh, right. Feel free to mention that next time, but most of my point still stands. :)

I wish it were that simple though...
