So so true :)

It's a by-product of our success :-D

I don't think they/we were born snobs but barracking for such a brilliant Footy teams brings it on. That's another reason why i think so many people are currently grumpy....they just don't know how to cope!!!!

Anyone else have a growing resentment for Thornton the longer this goes on?

Not quite... My resentment has actually retrograded to the day we drafted the flower

Never liked Thornton... always thought he was shit...

he always struck me as kind of a cross between Gengis Khan and Hitler

did anyone else get that?

An Essendon* supporting mate of mine told me he had an ever increasing hatred of Greg Williams, he said he hated Greg Williams a little more each every day. He still maintains this now even though Williams has retired from football.

If Thornton ends up leaving Carlton he might be a candidate for me.

or

How unlucky any person is to spend more that 20 minutes in the land of the pie floater?

You wont be the only one Jarusa.

It wont be long before Hamill and Campo retire, and that leaves Thornton the Melbournian, as the only deserter to focus my anger on.

I knew they left to play at St Dildo and the Bumbers.

I remember the reception Hamill got at home, and the confusion he felt when Blight departed, the impact he had in the last finals game for them (he got 6 possessions)...but I'm not sure if he's still playing,...but he's on their list.

I remember Campo going to the Bumbers in the PSD for nothing. He didn't play against us when Bumbers lost, he didn't play that much at all, Sheedy called him an idiot when he did his hamstring before having to face Carlton for the first time (yellow belly), and I saw glimpses of him receiving the ball when we drew with them...I think he's still contracted...but I'm not sure if he's playing (footy).

The whole JR saga has annoyed me more.

I can understand Thornton having had a gutful but not JR....

im not bitter, im not disappointed, i just want something out of this.

i think a lot of carlton supporters over rate thornton because we have very little down back, but that will change.

JR-meh, shouldn't have picked him at 9 in the first place.

Cant give into Russell either.... a young player putting his hand up to go home and forcing the club into a trade isnt what we want...we dont want the messiah Gibbs thinking he can just demand a trade at the end of two years and run back home,.....the club for once is doing the right thing and letting these players know we wont be bullied..win lose or draw we need to earn some respect like Williams did when he wouldnt cave into Stevens and Collingwood....

That is true ... but Port knew that Steven's wouldn't make it to his preferred club in the PSD thus they were able to make a stand ... We can't make a stand on both - we can make sure that Thornton doesn't get to Hawks, but we can not do the same with Russell. If we have already committed our PSD pick Russell will last until Port's pick. So, better to look for the best trade we can ...

We don't have enough pieces of the puzzle to make a decision as yet i would guess ...

Appreciate your point and you are correct...but I'm prepared to give Russell up for nothing though just to send a message to the football community that we wont stood over by anyone...we might lose a pick over it but so be it......Russell will get through to Port in the PSD and we cant stop it but in two years time I dont want the Crows nibbling at Gibbs and thinking we will be walked over or cave in for just anything........be our luck for the Crows to finish last in two years time wouldnt it?

Nothing much has changed for me.

i thought they were both piss weak when their intentions became clear and I still think they are both piss weak.

Both excuses for wanting out are piss weak, the attitude is piss weak and the ongoing bullshit is piss weak.

Give me a kid of substance any day. From what I've heard of Murphy and both Walker's actions and his old man's opinions, these two are much better indicators of the type of character I want around the club for the next decade after all the current bullshit has passed.
