I think there's every chance he will sign. Anthony McSonofabitch probably promised Thornton he would get him to Hawthorn, using every shit canning story there is to get him there.

Well he failed. Thornton's reputation has been tarnished, for someone who keeps such a low profile, I imagine it would hurt him fairly deep. Supporters who rated him so highly feel betrayed and many now hate him. All in all, I think McSonofabith did a splendid job.

Now hopefully, Thornton has a good PRIVATE chat with Denis, a few night outs with the boys and especially a great pre season.

A lot can be done in two months, Murphy even became a Carlton legend in two months so I'm sure a new three year contract for Thornton is not so far fetched.

First an admission, I don't rate Thornton. I think he is petulant, individual, with poor skills, and everythime he gets the ball we are risk of a turnover

It's funny how any form of decent observation goes out the window when it looks like a player is going to leave.

Exactly, it was the same with Fev last year. I reckon Carlton God is full of s#$% but he's got the 'sheep' thing right.

I am afraid that i have had this view for a long time - its not a fresh one. Thornton

That many here don't seem to like it, or agree, is I guess the beauty of our game - many different views and opinions. I still believe that he has a long way to go, his defensive skills are lacking, he punches into danger, doesn't support his teammates and his footskills are poor.

Guess this is one where, when he wins a norm smith for Carlton I'll have to eat my posts :-D

Just heard on SEN, that Carlton is talking with Hawthorn ... No other details.

Looks like Thornton could be on his way.

Why does everyone have to wait until the last minute to finalise deals?

If we don't do a deal and can't announce that BT is signing with us again I will be pretty pissed off!

If we don't deal I wouldn't expect them to be able to announce he's staying with us today.

It may take some weeks for the club and players to work him around. If he doesn't get what he wants now he's hardly going to be in a mood to say "Okay I'll stay".

How did Udai Hussien negotiate with his players again?

I think they tended to get the message or a nice shredder massage...
