Greg Denham reporting Ratten to the saints or cats; most likely the saints and Paul Hudson to the Lions

Trust us to miss out on the good assistants

Not sure whether it's breaking news or not but Crosisca has resigned from his position with N Ballarat and is heading to CFC - apologies if this is old news - flat out at work

Pathetic.
Someone like Hudson would have been fantastic.
Then again, Denis might feel threatened by someone valuable.
Best we play it safe.

Not at all happy about this. Thought we could have and should have done better.

I assume Crosisca is Denis's "one appointment".

That leaves the two "additional" assistants.

Is that correct?

And a strength and conditioning coach. May not really be a match-day coach but still a big cog.

There will be more spots to fill if we lose any of our other assistant coaches.

Yeah I wasn't including him. There was a mention of someone doing some work with some of the kids in a CFC article recently.

Next conditioning coach maybe?

Not a fan of Gavin Crossica....out Elshaugh(Yes man), in Crossica(Yes man)..
would prefer Hudson and/or other outsiders...but they would be seen as threats and senior coaching alternatives and we cant have that....

Was that the job description Bluehotel?

Situations vacant.

Assistant coach wanted.

Preferably someone who will sit down and shut up. Previous Pagan assistants preferred.

Please note- "Applicant must not be a bad coach or bad person."

If this description fits you and your name is Gavin, contact Denis Pagan.
(Please note, once you are appointed, contact with Denis Pagan is prohibited)

Apparently Crosisca was Pagan's second choice....so I'd say he's rather pleased with that result. I'm sure his mate Shaun Geltoy will be disappointed however at missing the assistants role.

I dare say the fitness/conditioning coach will be announced soon. From what I know - they were keen on a Mulkearns replacement a long time ago. If my information is correct - that's good news...Peter certainly knew what he was doing and was highly regarded.

Does Pagan have any say in the other 2?

Well after a really exciting trade week we come to the assistants and as it looks like we have 2 free slots after Pagan picked up Crossica which i cant really work out how good he will be...

well to be truthful i reckon an assistants coaching gig with the blues would be something any aspiring coach should be wanting to have ... and personally would be great to get a Ratten / Mckenna / Longmire or cresswell ect

Why because we all know Pagan has a 0-2 year lif expectency and i cant see him surviving if the club starts off next year being belted or loosing 6 straight .... Pagan would be gone if the club continues to tread water on-field or make no progress in 2007

Any qualified aspiring coach would be an automatic to take over and has to be something that should entice a assistant coaching aspirant....
Hopefully one of the 2 we choose will be someone we can turn to if Pagan is removed out of the blue so to speak..

If i was someone who wanted to be a Senior coach or to get my foot in the door the Carlton gig has to be the best one.... and geez wont be hard to impress the board is we are 0/1 from 6 in first 6 rounds .... even if Pagan shows some success which is also good we all know he will not be caoch of the Blues after 1-2 years .... if he fails early in 2007 then he maybe gone earlier.

Hopefully we can get the last 2 selections filled with new idea assistants who can also take over a senior role should it be required.
