Answer: Down near the bottom...

I guess that makes him the perfect candidate for tanking.

So who are the better candidate's that were willing to take the job?

The club could have announced that they had asked several candidates to be interviewed and that they declined and in the interests of due diligence, you'd think they would have.

Did the club announce that they had? If they hadn't, perhaps I could assume that they didn't pursue this course of action. If they did and didn't inform the members, then that's poor communication. Either way, it's shambolic.

 ... just what the club needs ... more bad publicity. Why would they club even contemplate on such a statement, even if true.

Unfortunately this was all 100% predictable the moment the board made a decision that Pagan would be allowed to appoint one assistant and the board would appoint the rest.

When you set up a divisive climate like that (and try to sack the coach and then at the 11th hour decide to keep him) it's not all that surprising that he would use his one choice to sure up his support with an old ally.

Crosisca may turn out to be a great assistant coach for Carlton for many years but the selection stinks of a club full of people playing petty politics instead of making clear professional decisions based on what's best for the club now, tomorrow, next year and ever after.

"They had a contract"
"They were happy where they were"
"They had other interests they had to take care of and couldn't move"

Can easily turn it into a positive thing just by "spinning" it

Does anyone have any more info than 'he's a hack / yes man / dud'? I don't know a thing about him - apart from someone saying he got the boot from the Roos and the Hawks (I think).

What sort of coach is he? how did N Ballarat go under him? Etc

That shouldn't stop you sticking the knife in HTP. Many other posters here wouldn't know him if they fell over him but he is still the 'Devil Incarnate' simply for taking in a breath.

By the way....'Getting the boot'.....&....'loosing your position when another new coach comes to your club with his own friends/coaching team/group' are very separate entities.

If you were Bond, Hudson, silvagni ect would you join our unstable club. You would think if the board goes so does pagan and so do you.

We have to get what we can becuase i doubt their would be people queing for one of our assistants jobs.

By the way what is Terry Daniher like at his job.

Isn't in Denis's contract (hopefully until an EGM) that he got one assistant of his choosing. He lost Elshaugh, maybe this is the one to make up for it. Be interesting to see who the rest of our assistants are.

Denis shouldnt have been made to sack one lacky to replace him with a clone.

That defeats the purpose.

Cant Denis be abit more adventurous?

I agree too. I just wondering though if it was a part of his contract and we had no choice.

Something like that, funnily enough, would not surprise me.

How much can they continue compromising the club???

They just have to dig their heels in and say "You were about to be given the arse.. and youre lucky outside forces helped you keep your job.. and you want to continue bringing the club down?"

Anyone ever been in the coaches box with Crosisca? Anyone ever talked to the guy about his philosophies on football? Anyone? Or is it all based on assumptions again

yeah... I had a beer with him once and asked for his football philosophy. He told me he likes to play wide and spring the off-side trap. Needless to say, I was a bit worried

I won't knock the guy, I just think it's funny.

The positive is we've broken up the Pagan/Trout tag team, that's all that really matters.

Not me.

I have however listened to him address his players on several occasions and watched how he coaches.
I also heard him discuss AFL football at a luncheon when he was an assistant at Hawthorn.

Is that enough for me to have an opinion on the matter or do I have to sit in the box with him?

I'm not knocking the guy. I'm questioning the integrity of the selection process by the club. Did they interview 10 people or offer the job to one?
Unfortunately the latter is closer to the mark.
