Well done Blackwell. Well done Wiggins.

We've made a big statement during this trade period. I think in the future we're likely to do very well on the trade table as a result of all this. Try to screw us over and you get nothing.

Great news! I've got goosebumps.

One thing during the Russell/Thornton saga-- they weren't quoted ONCE during the whole scenario. I guess this might have made it easier for them both to change their minds and stay since there were no quoted comments for them to be held accountable to.

I'd be really interested to hear what was the clincher in persuading Russell to stay -- or whether it was simply the fact that he wasn't likely to make it to Port via PSD.

Was the fact that change is afoot -- and Denis most likely won't be there in '08, and maybe not '07 -- said to Russell in subtle terms?

For all those naysayers out there -- the club couldn't have handled this better IMO.

--------------

Oh! And Blackwell!

Good stuff.

I can't stop smiling. :-D :-D :-D

Russell, the Wiggler and Blackwell for two more years. That will do wonders for our development.

Congratulations to Michael Malouf, Grant Williams and staff. You have been rightly criticised in the past, but in this you have excelled (only criticism you could say is that some of this is a little late).

Well it depends. Wasn't happy with JR saying he wants to go home, something a mummies boy would do. Before this saga his number was going on the back of my baby girls first footy jumper.

If he signed for 2 he shows some commitment which is good, pushes him backup to top 3, but not 1.

fantastic news for the club. i think we as carlton supporters should be thankful to both bret and jordan for sticking by the club, they may have been hamstrung in some respects, but in the end they did show some loyalty to stick with us.

thanks fellas!

Interesting responses...I'm very happy with this news but surely the resignations shouldn't have reached the papers in the first place? It's great that we've managed to keep on to each of our young sub-22ers who are likely to be part of the next good Carlton team, but the turmoil itself says something. It would have been better for the Club to have dealt with these where possible (and I'm thinking Thornton mainly) well before the trade period.

Great news..... I guess that rules out 2 things: Gibbs getting the number 2 jumper or young Diesel getting it.....BRYCE GIBBS #4 HERE WE COME!
