How many players will we realisticly delist??

Lets keep in mind that we need to have some players ready to delist next year for our final stage of building via the draft, while we have golden picks.

And when did we start delisting last year???

I'm guessing 6 players...

Patience Fevs, all in good time. :)

I think the first list lodgement is due on the 31st October. The delistings will start before the end of the month.

6 means 5 draft picks and 1 PSD pick only, no rookie elevations. The mail is at least one promotion, so my money is on either 7 or 8 to get the chop, although I'd like 9 and promote Aisake, Jackson and Flint - won't happen, but there you are.

This has been done to death but......

1. Chambers
2. Longmuir
3. Livo
4. Teague
5. French (retired)
6. Mcgrath OR Bannister OR Sporn (2 will remain)
7. Davies

WHilst I think 2 of the 3 listed at # 6 should go.. you cannot delist everyone and need to leave players to be delisted next year (and can't have a list of 18-21 year olds)!!!!!!!!

95 Perfection.. Hartlett recently signed a new 1 year contract... should he have more injuries his name will be on the list next year.. hopefully he can have a good year and get a place in our best 22 by the end of the year

I can't see Hartlett getting the boot.

French
Prenda.
Chammbers.
Davies.
Sporn.
Teauge.
Livo.

Those players I think we will be almost sertain to get the chop. Then there are a few who will have serious questions marks over there heads.

McGrath - I think he is an ok bit player, but he is not our future. Can't have players like this getting games in the 1's of the younger guys anymore.

T-Lo - I can't see T-Lo getting to much of run in the 1's next year. He will most likely be fighting for that small foward roll with Eddie. One thing that may keep him on the list is that he has had a few injuries, and really has not been able to show if he can play yet.

Bryan - Was stiff not to get more games in the 1's last year, thought he played better than Archie and Dilbert in alot of the games for the Ants but just couldn't seem to have the luck on his side.

If all those players are delisted and with French gone that will make 10. Then we pick up our 5 draft picks and PSD, then promote the 2 players that we HAVE to, I think that is Batson and Smith, and also Jacko and Aisake.

Flint to stay as rookie (I think Jacko is slightly ahead of him but will be 1st to get promoted if there is a long term injury.), and 4 new rookies can then be picked up.

thats 7,
if they decide to go 8 so we have room for an etxra PSD pick or an extra rookie promotion then i'm guessing Teague (with a payout)

I think they should give Davies 1 year contract now that Ratten is onboard. Let Ratten work with the kid for 12 months and see how he goes. I think it's worth a try.

I hope you're kidding.
Davies should be the first one cut

I would normally agree - but if we can afford to allow Ratten 12 months to work on Davies (provided his injury allows it) I think it would be a good test for both ie. a test of Davies character and a test of Ratten's player development ability. Obviously Ratten saw something in Davies to warrant him having the "7" guernsey - lets see if Ratten can bring it out.

Again I only advocate it if we cant find anything else of value down at pick 67 in National Draft - and also because of the wreckage that is the 2000 and 2001 Drafts.

Sometimes you just have to cut your losses.

If the club is serious they will cut the following players who don’t have a future at club:
Livingston
Deluca
Teague
Chambers
Bannister
McGrath
Longmuir
Bryan
Saddington
Davies
Carazzo

I’d still persist with Sporn

Sure and in this case if Davies injury has very poor prognosis I would say yeah "cut away."

LOL.....Couldn't help it.

Your right Steve 6 aint enough...8-9 is looking really possible then.

Suggestion Hartlett could be one is just plain ignorent.
Bannister should be safe too...

i agree with fullmont101's post....

Ps i think we have to move on from Davies Agro as we can't afford to have to many players on 4-5th chances, we will not move forward like that....

Ohhhhh!! Can't we just keep him on a permanent Rookie List and activate him everytime we play "The Filth". :P

It's amazing how we all see things differently. As I would never keep Sporn over Carrots! Plus we have to keep Deluca and Bryan for at least another year.

Don't become too sensitive and attached to probable delistings. There's plenty to catch out there in 2006, and plenty more to delist in 2007. We've got to turn over the list and clean it out. We need talent for 2008 and beyond.

Davies is finished. One of Sporn/ McGratn or Bannister may survive the cut.

Delist the following uncontracted players now:

Davies........pick 1
Longmuir.....pick 17
Chambers...pick 19
Prenders......pick 35
Livingston....pick 51
Bryan..........pick 65
McGrath.......promote Jackson
Sporn.........promote Aisake/ Batson
Smith........new rookie
Batson?.....new rookie
ADD............international rookie
ADD...........24 yo rookie

French.......pick 1 PSD

If we want to take......pick 16 PSD we have to drop one of.......

Raso.......... ( recontract)
Houlihan.... (recontract)
Bentick ......(recontract)
Carrazzo....(recontract)
..................Bannister (could be)

Plenty to go end 2007 when out of contract for min 3 new quality kids to play 2008:

Kouta
Lappin
Teague
DeLuca
Saddington
McLaren

with the possibility of those to walk end 2007 due to no contract...

Murphy
Kennedy
Walker
Bower
Hartlett
Edwards
Whitnall
Stevens
Simpson

Plenty of scope for a clean out and to take advantage of this deep 2006 superdraft and PSD, given our advantage from coming last.
