and will it be bloodless??

Of course it will be bloodless.. .. when it happens the board will scatter in every direction..they dont have the stomach for a fight.. theyre weak.
they are being dictated to by the AFL.
The AFL chooses our coach.. whether we get a priority pick or not...
They are leading us with a stick as well as a carrot...

After all they are weak.. impotent.. and are unable to bring the club to an even keel.

If that is the case, can you give an indication of a timeframe?

CARLTON agitator Fraser Brown last night hailed the appointment of club great Brett Ratten as an assistant coach and hinted it may bring an end to a board challenge.

Unlike last time... this time care is being put into finding the right people.

Last time we had the ex AFL/Calrton CEO football stalwart.
the woman.
The Jews
The Greek
The Italians
The premiership footballers
The busineepeople.
the lawyer.
The financier
Blah blah blah... on paper it looked good didnt it?
IT translated to very little after Collo... and they stuick a knife in him too..

Anyway... this time it wont be about making it look good just on paper..
Theyre going to have to have balls... ideas.. and industrial sized punch.!

Shouldnt be too long..you have to understand there are some egos and they all have to be reined in...and harnessed.

Funny Synbad i am sure a couple of weeks ago Fraser Brown was going to cuase the spill will influencial people then he became the powerplayer behind the frontmen ... now fraser Brown is not even in the picture but we have even bigger players

Does that mean that Fraser Brown is no longer relevent when a couple of weeks ago he was the main financial player for change ??

Man I would love a great footy club board again but with no Pratt or Fahour or Grollo -I am really worried the new team will struggle against Graeme and Denis and the Gibbs family singers.

When you have death threats made to your family, you have no choice but to become irrelevant.....

Ok, it's always possible that he has set up these new people to take the reins, and taken a step or three back i guess...

Apparently a meeting last night with major supporter groups and sponsors. Anyone up to date on this? Would be good to get some more info

Fraser Brown is committed to change at Carlton.

Whilst he has taken a step backwards at present, he is still very much behind changes that will occur.

Since his public statements bigger players, both in a financial & influence sense have stepped forward to support/ push for change.

regards

Ockham

One would think that the new board would act swift and decisively to sack Pagan.

Do they then publicly interview prospective coaches similar to the process that St Kilda undertook?

Surely they can't afford to simply appoint someone in the head role without undertaking due process -- it would look inept and 'mateish' and would be a major mistake.

The days of appointing coaches in this manner at VFL/AFL level are over, if my memory serves me correct we have never actually conducted what is a proper selective process for a coach:

1965: Ron Barassi (obviously an inspired choice)
1972: John Nicholls (the obvious heir apparent)
1975: Ian Thorogood (the accidental tourist)
1977: Ian Stewart (the cross dresser)
1978: Alex Jesaulenko (the reluctant hero)
1980: Peter Jones (reward for loyalty)
1981: David Parkin (an inspired choice)
1986: Robert Walls (the return of the prodigal son)
1989: Alex Jesaulenko (Back to the Future)
1991: David Parkin (Back to the Future II)
2001: Wayne Brittain (the annointed one)
2003: Denis Pagan (poached from North - in order to save the board)

I will bow to other more notable historians around the club but not one of these selections were done with a robust selection process - Carlton have always headhunted a coach and never really cast a wide net over suitable candidates and selected the best one.

I think its time we finally did this.

Revisionist history once again.

Pagan was on a list of a number of candidates at the time ... Wallace, Eade, Pagan, etc. As a 2 time premiership coach Pagan was THE outstanding candidate available and we got him. Thats what boards do ... decide ont he best candidate and get him. Just because they don't advertise the process like some clowns like Butterss doesn't mean there isn't a process in place.

That is not true, the Board had just come out recently and backed WB until the end of his tenure, then they said that the ONLY reason why they changed their minds was because Pagan suddenly became available. There was no process or review of other candidates, or at least that is not what they put forward publicly.

I wouldn't think it is too much knowledge when we are the people who vote? How long have people been calling for a vision or a plan? Yet only the VIP are invited to hear it?
