God I loved Bradley, Williams, Ratten and Brown.

LOVED.

Not as much as I loved Peter Dean. But close.

I suppose it remains to be seen how successful braddles is going to be as an AC. He's shied away from coaching a couple of times now, so let's hope he can take our emerging midfield to a happy place.

Welcome back braddles.

I'm actually quite pleased that two champion AFL players in Ratten & Bradley have put their hands up to try and instill some confidence and playmaking ability back into our playing list.

PLENTY more changes are needed at Carlton IMO with hopefully a new senior coach, President and a revamped administration & footy department to come.

You gotta start somewhere I suppose. :)

Has he coached in any capacity at all (apart from the well publicised aborted stints)?
If not was he at least proactive in passing on his knowledge to the youngsters in his playing days?

oh well, welcome back Braddles hopefully he is good for us...

I can imagine some conflict in the future, between them and Pagan.

I'm confused Ockham. You, and others, have indicated that moves are afoot to put a new ticket together to topple the current board. You've said that Fraser Brown has taken a step back because he has been overtaken by larger players/forces, but that he's still involved. The first act of a new board will, presumably, be to get rid of Pagan and replace him with a new coach as per Fraser's earlier attempt.

So what happens to Ratts and now Braddles then? Surely the new coach, whoever that may be, will want to select his own assistants, and they may not be two former Carlton greats with limited coaching experience between them. What happens then?

If I was Denis, I'd be worried.

No "yes" men except for Crosisca and maybe Libba.

Sounds like we might be white-anting his position. I think Denis has to go, but not undermining him like this. We should have just come out and sacked him, negotiated a settlement with him and be done with it, gone through a proper process of finding a coach (in the manner that St Kilda did) and probably gained either Bond or Longmire.

This club is becoming even more unprofessional...but as if we didn't know that already - though obviously some think we still are...

Kernahan, Bradley both SA's

Add Andrew McKay to help out Bower, Flint.... and an inspiring Peter Motley around the club would also lift the spirit of the place...and perhaps it's enough to cement a conversion of Gibbs into a truly committed SA Carltonian forever (if we choose him).

I hope...I'm sure Bradley will help....in some way. I know nothing of his tactical prowess, but I'm sure he has naturally gifted qualities in that dept.

Ratten and Bradley will also be great for our up and coming midfield too.

It's coming together...all we need now is a Bond as coach and Sandilands and Leuenberger in the ruck, alittle bit more development of our young players and we're on the way to a better future.

Surely we're in a better position post 2006 than any of the previos 5 years.

Not sure I get you, Carlton Clem.

Who could have been hired as an assistant coach that wouldn't make you think Pagan's position is under pressure?

It seems on the one hand you want us to go through a thorough process to hire an assistant but, when one is hired that doesn't have a history of being a 'yes man', then we must be undermining Pagan's position?

Not having a crack at you - just not sure how you interpret that Bradley's hiring is danger for Pagan. I mean, by that logic ANY hiring would be danger for Pagan

Or is that what you mean?
