No "yes" men except for Crosisca and maybe Libba.

Sounds like we might be white-anting his position. I think Denis has to go, but not undermining him like this. We should have just come out and sacked him, negotiated a settlement with him and be done with it, gone through a proper process of finding a coach (in the manner that St Kilda did) and probably gained either Bond or Longmire.

This club is becoming even more unprofessional...but as if we didn't know that already - though obviously some think we still are...

I'm not sure that's the motivation Clem. I reckon it's probably got more to do with appeasing Brown and heading off challengers for the board at the next AGM. Unfortunately I suspect that this is a political appointment.

Is it just my imagination, or does Pagan look a lot less happy to see Bradley than Thornton in the other article? ;)

So what happens to Ratts and now Braddles then? Surely the new coach, whoever that may be, will want to select his own assistants, and they may not be two former Carlton greats with limited coaching experience between them. What happens then?

I think it'd be more a case of move Denis on and keep the Assistants (I mean have the new Assistants taken us to continued mediocity?). If anyone was to go it'd be Denis' new Yes man Gavin.

Not sure I get you, Carlton Clem.

Who could have been hired as an assistant coach that wouldn't make you think Pagan's position is under pressure?

It seems on the one hand you want us to go through a thorough process to hire an assistant but, when one is hired that doesn't have a history of being a 'yes man', then we must be undermining Pagan's position?

Not having a crack at you - just not sure how you interpret that Bradley's hiring is danger for Pagan. I mean, by that logic ANY hiring would be danger for Pagan

Or is that what you mean?

This is quite obviously a Board appointment; to appease Brown.

Having staff that would be favourable to a Brown Coalition would mean that it's financially easier to launch a Boardroom squabble but politically riskier.

If Bradley is one of these ex-Carlton players who has not been happy with the way the Club is going, then hiring Bradley has made it difficult for Denis.

If it was all dandy HTP, we would have kept Elshaug. That wouldn't be a danger to Pagan.

It looks like they were photographed mid-grin, but who knows?

Doesn't look as grim as usual though does Denis. Good on him for having a crack.

I wonder which one is the tactical one.

Pagan , Crossi , Ratten or Braddle

Or are they just going to have a match day phone hook up with BV :-D

Not as much as I loved Peter Dean. But close.

I agree with the Peter Dean sentiments there JohnM. He and SOS are my all time favorites! :-D

Braddles looks like he's still fit enough to play in that picture! Great to have you back Braddles.

Would it be a problem if the two Carlton factions came together? Surely a united Carlton is more powerful than a divided one. I am not saying that there doesn't need to be future changes.

WOOHOO!

There's also the membership angle as well. Having some legends return may placate a few who have vomited on their jumpers and bitten their membership cards in two over the past few years.
