GET OVER IT!

The majority of you guys (me included) have bagged the living sh#t out of the playing list this year. Finally we are seeing some of the deadwood being cut away and some people start getting a little teary.

I say bugger off to all those that have been given the arse. Its good to see the broom finally going through the joint.

Prenda - should have stuck to the athletic track
Longmuir - wish we recruited the other one
Sporn - laughing stock (and not just because of his hairstyle)
Livo - biggest waste of pick 4 ever seen
McGrath - Essendon* hack

Now all we need to do is axe Chambers, Davies, DeLuca (maybe keep cos Frenchy has gone), Saddington and Teague.

AGREED :-D

Good call. Mcgrath turned the ball over to the extent that he became one of the oppositions most damaging players. Someone pls tell me what the bloke who recruited Livo saw in him to waste pick 4. I cant believe mobile would have been one of the words used in the assessment.

============================

What humble and successful people both "Baggers" & "Anfield" must be.

Both Luke & Cory guys gave their all for the Blues - they were never going to be in our best, but when they were needed each of them did their best.

Thank-you to both Cory & Luke for doing all that you could to make the Blues a better place. Both of you added to the Blues off field structure in a huge way.

The time has come to move on but that doesn't diminish the fact that each of you tried your best. You each played more games for our beloved Blues than either Baggers or Anfield could ever dream of doing :x

Regards
Ockham

Well said Ockham.

Okay, that's so dumb that if it were by some dumb chance in hell, remotely applicable, then this board would have about seven members.

Apart from that, while we all wanted A-grade premiership footballers, the delisted where not them. They most likely knew they were shit, they most likely worked hard to overcome that, such for their efforts we should be thankful.

It's sad to treat them like crap footballers when they were just crap at playing football, if that makes sense.

KWTF,

I think you missed my point. It is easy for any of us to slag off players/past players, but at least theyhave given their best. A little bit of respect for them doesn't go astray.

I'll try to make sure any future posts that I make aren't so "dumb", just to keep you happy.

This tells me we are serious about rebuilding. As hard as McGrath trained and tried I think best case scenario was that he would be worth a spot on the list for maybe only 1-2 more years. He has a great work ethic but isn't the future.

At last...rebuiding.

Perhaps they are just being pragmatic and delisting the out of contract ones. In the grand scheme of things does it really matter if Mcgrath is delisted this season, and Teague next season, or vice versa?

If we are really rebuilding they will delist the lot of them and we will wear the cost of Teague's, Deluca's and Saddo's contracts. With Gibbs to come in, and Russell virtually guaranteed game time after almost leaving, and Jackson and Bower to kick on ... none of the potential delistee will get game time next year.

I liked Cory. I think he had more to contribute. However, I would have to agree that he was not our future. Cory and Livo always tried their guts out. Regarding the contracted players I am happy for us to save our pennys and keep them on. If we delist Davies and Chambers then that will be about right in my opinion.

Its certainly not Livo's fault that we are in our current predicament however his departure is an important watershed moment in the redevelopment of this once great club.

livo has always been the subject of much derision and his ability or lack thereof seemed to polarise supporters. Finally the questions can be put to rest was he up to it? should he be given more of a chance? should they try him in forward line?

Its not Livo's fault we wasted a number 4 pick on him nor is it his fault that he was never good enough to make it at AFL level he certainly tried. We should recognise our recruiting failure and let it go - the healing can begin rather than conitinually scratching the wound.

The departure of Livo and Sporn (and also possibly Davies) was vital for the supporters to show there is some direction at the club

Thanks for your 6 years of service Livo sorry it didnt work out

I wish all of the very best of luck to Smith and Batson - two players that I really hope move on, succeed and prove how wrong Carlton's judgement of them was.

i am glad they gave McGrath the chop. Just turned it over and had a lack of awareness and he is 28 next year. Yes he was a top bloke from all reports but he isnt in our future plans. Livo was disappointing also.Despite the injuries had his chances. The round 1 injury last year couldnt have come at a worse time. However he isnt up to it. It was boom or bust and the bust happened.

Batson showed something when I saw him but that was in the Ants 2s and he wasnt given the opportunities for whatever reason.Still would rather have kept him than Deluca who has only kept his spot because he is contracted for another year.

With Batson off the rookie list they may promote Aisake O'Hailpin to the main group with our short supply of talls. He then can play firsts footy for the Ants with a few games for the Bluebaggers.

Just logged on for the first time since 5:30 yesterday to find out that Livo and McGrath had been cut.
Livo was no suprise, but Cory was.
I'm also dumbfounded that Teague, Chambers and Davies, who's back is worse than Ang's, still remains.
I'm guessing Teague was kept on because of his contract, but what of the other two?
How can Pagan justify keeping Chambers and Davies on the list or are there more delistings to come?

Either way, I'd like to thank Cory, Luke, Daniel and Jesse for all their efforts at training and on game for Carlton and the Bullants.

Good luck for next year and beyond, lads.

PJ dont worry - there is definitely another announcement coming. There is at least 1 more that I am led to believe has already been told.

But your sentiments are right.. definitely a big thanks, and lets move on. Livo in particular - I've always been a supporter and I thought his 2002 he showed alot. But that back injury slowed him up and his pace was never a strong point. Great fella, loved the Club, loves footy..but just not good enough.

Man I hope you're right. I'll be sick if davies and chambers are still there. Even though teague should also go, his presence on the team list isnt as insulting as Davies.

Good luck to livo and mcgrath. Shame about Smith

Yeah,it is easy to slag off at players, but my question is,what urges posters(AKA "supporters"),to do so?
(I am certain the aim of setting up TC was for information sharing and support of a common interest.)Attacking players via this forum is a cowardly attack on those who represent the CFC, remember,(some  )of you are posting under anonymity.
For me personally,I have always found bagging of players distasteful,(and yes,I found it distasteful as a kid spectator).
Personally,I view posters that continually shitcan players, usually lack substance and hence crediblity in their respective posts.
Obviously , I can chose not to view TC,but that in itself wiil not make the forum any better.
I am certain the aims and objectives of those who provided this forum, was not to set up a S.P.B.(Shitcannining Players Board).
And I can assure you,I do not live in a world where the lions and lambs dance together in the fields.
