That must be why I barely even skim through Synbad's posts these days. He's a bit like McDonalds, the same food no matter where he posts :)

Is it true that the cookies in McDonalds are actually a clever way to get rid of medical waste?

He totally revamped the organisation and created an environment mirroring AFL clubs to make a progressive transition for his players.
He then coached his team to the TAC under 18 premiership.
He is very highly regarded in the area of football development.
Thats what I know.

Like Hudson, I dont personally know Gavin Crosisca.
His resume tells me he was a Pagan assistant at North.
When Pagan moved on he didnt take Crosisca with him. The Kangaroos then sacked him.
He then went to Hawthorn and was sacked.
He then tried to obtain another assistants role and wasnt offered one.
He has since coached North Ballarat.

Which CV appears the best?
Did Carlton interview Hudson or offer the position to Bond or one of the other current assistants?

I'd suggest this doesnt surprise anyone. Its the sort of standards we've set for ourselves now.

You might be interested to know Blue Vain that after several years of being Paul Hudson's unofficial publicist, somone has finally taken up your advice and appointed him as an assistant coach. Just a shame it wasn't us.

Edit - here is a better link

So the Lions have Shaun Rehn as well. Two of your favourites!

No Synbad, you're negative. You may be critical in so far as you judge harshly, but you also refuse to even acknowledge positives. Thus, you're negative.

And there are positives. Maybe the overall situation isn't positive, but that doesn't mean that some of the re-signings, some of the appointments can't be positives.

I'm really happy some of the young kids have signed on again this week. I like the appointment of Ratten and I haven't made my mind up about Crosisca.

Does any of that mean I have my head in the sand?

I'm quite aware of the club's failings over the past decade, and the current boards recent issues. I choose not to harp on and on about them when I don't believe it will make a difference. Still head in the sand?

Yes your head is still in the sand.

With everyone of our "positives" each and every otyher club with just the Kangaroos as an exception are accumulating MORE positives....

Overall were falling miles behind....
Thats not good enough.....!!!!

No Synbad. Noticing, and being happy about one positive doesn't mean I'm not able to see both where we are in relation to the rest of the league, and where we're heading.

Your head is further in the sand than mine. You've got your head stuck in the sand against the possibility that the club might get something right. You only see one side of the coin, because that's all you want to see.

But don't worry Synbad, when the time comes to make a difference these small victories won't make up for the glaring deficiencies in the way the club has been run and the change you've been campaigning so hard for will come.

Recently the things the club has got right are things that they originally had got wrong. So you might call it getting things right, I call it fixing their F#%* ups.

Hmmm, I’m not too sure about this argument. The average reader and poster of TC I don’t think equates to your average supporter. While I would expect there are hundreds, possibly thousands, of Carlton supporters that read TC and do not post, I still wouldn’t call them average or marginal. I still think there is a level of fanaticism involved in reading an unofficial website on a regular basis – and I don’t think negativity would turn fanatical supporters away from the club.

If average supporters are turning away, I think part of it is inevitable as a result of the clubs on field performance and the rest due to the clubs conduct etc. I really don’t think negative comments posted on these boards can erode the supporter base in a significant fashion. Supporters that are that easily swayed off the club wouldn’t be fanatical enough to invest time into reading these sites in my opinion.

I agree MM.

I first joined an online forum in the lead up to Black Friday in 2002. I wanted to know what was going on so I Googled CFC and came up with CSC. Funnily enough the thing that kept me going back was the critical nature of people's attitudes towards the club and John Elliott.

If everything had been smiley and rosy I wouldn't have stayed. By finding others like myself who weren't happy with the status quo and were making it (semi)public I found a Carlton community I previously didn't know about but wanted to be a part of.

Unfortunately though, when you hear the same thing over and over and over again, it just gets really boring.

I think most people who have any issues would just like a bit of variety once in a while. That just ain't happening.

Maybe its because we keep falling further and further behind that some of us are PREPARED to criticise over and over again... and if thats boring i dont give a flying duck.. i want things fixed and i want them fixed not in ten years.. or five years or even one year.. i want them fixed now!!!

Thats boring to you??... who gives a stuff...?!??!?!

some people think watching "Neighbours is fun"(thats you verbs as you said it).. others watch the wrestling(Wolfister).. i just want my footy team fixed!!!.. i dont give a stuff if youre criticising me for criticising the club.. i cant take it.

I also get my goat up when people PRETEND to support on here.. and criticise the criticises just to look good to 'whoever' might be reading it.

I dont mind if people are fair dinkum in their support of this current board.. even though i think if you do support their cutting edge style of running a football club youre basic in your thinking.

PRETENDING on here is a TOTAL different kettle of fish for me...

And that's what I like about you Synbad.

Sometimes you seem to have a go for the sake of having a go...and that's fun, regardless if it doesn't make sense to me...but I don't really count in banter...and I understand that...collateral damage.

But when it comes to the core issues of the club...board results with brand, sponsors, marketing, player management, coach, and AFL....it's great to have you in the trenches....saying it as it is and how you feel...that's when I know you're passionate about Carlton....and that makes you GOLD. That's all I want to say for now...lets keep it as GOLD.

I want it fixed now too...if it can be!!!

Show me the money and give the club its autonomy to create its own destiny.

As a relative newby I must say that whilst there are times when I am drawn between the two side of lateral and literal thought - eg ala Synbad and Bondi, it can be a bit daunting to post.

i do have to appreciate the true passion from all.

The thing about TC is its like a pub conversation / argument but with a burqua on. Anonymity leads some to spout that which is not there true thoughts but I do like the singularity of thought.

God bless the Carlton Football Club and all who aid her.

Couldn't be bothered with going through the rest of the thread to find out what all of the thoughts are about Crossisca coming back to join Pagan, but have finally got the below reply back from a mate who was the runner for Nth Ballarat this year. Take from it what you will but knowing my mate, it takes a bit to impress him about footy.

Mate,

In Vietnam so sorry for the slow reply.

Good coach and very good with young guys. At North Ballarat we had 90% of players under 21 years of age and managed to have a great year considering we were predicted to win the spoon and only a couple of games. He'll be good. I new about the Carlton gig a week before but kept very quiet.

Chat when we return in a couple of weeks.

Lethal

Nice to get something positive from the horse's mouth rather than the previous negative stuff posted by some old nags who are inching ever closer to the glue factory

I'm guessing with Mitchell likely to go, and given Crossica's experience at North Ballarat, that he'll get the Bullants gig next year.

Oh we will see which nags get to the glue factory first... :-D

Then we can all do some revisiting...

Ps id also like to add 90% of our list is made up of under 21s but that does not make Denis a good coach does it???

.. the apple never falls too far away from the apple tree...

Would have thought it might help to explain his win/loss ratio a bit though.
