Incisive commentary that is difficult to argue with.

I Love Fev, always have, but I dont think he should be commenting on what players we should be drafting. If we dont draft Gibbs, how is the other player going to feel ?

I don't think he'll slit his wrists over it.

Fev is the one true star we have and he puts us in the papers for the right reasons -- it's always a feel good story (eg see the story about him trying to lure Voss, the effect of Ratts and Braddles coming back, etc). Fev's comments will be forgotten pretty quickly after draft day. The guy loves the Club and craves success as much as any of us. I have no problems with his comments.

Remember last year when Fev told the public (Carlton lunch) that we were going to take Murph with our #1 pick.....

Agree fjanyc, Fev publicity these days is for all the right reasons. Cannot see how these comments can be seen as anything but positive. Hey, he's said he'd love a ruckman, he'd also love a midfielder, and he'd love another recently retired legend to give us a hand. Seems a positive attitude to me.

All Carltonians want to see their club in the media for the right reasons.
All Carltonians have longed for the day when the articles in the papers focus on the opportunity that lays before us.

All Carltonians have been impressed with Fevola's remarkable achievements in 2006; Coleman medalist for the wooden spooner and winning the GF Day sprint win, just to give Carlton a win.

I, like most in the football community appreciate Fevola for his honesty, integrity and desire to achieve greatness for his club.

He doesn't sprout, that's what Aker does. Fev speaks with his honour intact, and I'm sure all his team mates admire him, love him and listen to him. He cares and has a knack to make everyone feel comfortable around him; suits, media, teammates, opponents as well as the everyday bloke. That's the sort of leader I want.

What you see is what you get; there's no pretence. That's the type of person people admire; a passionate man, a team man, regardless of the fact that he's a proven champion. He has such good qualities.

Fevola is a true Carltonian, and has delivered hope for the Carlton Football Club, along with Murphy, in a humble manner.

The media, the football public want to hear what Fev has to say; he's our frontman, he's our star and he delivers.

He has charisma, and as a result the football world are attracted to him. And whilst they are attracted to him, he creates an aura of attractiveness for the Carlton Football club, at a time when the club is inits darkest moment.

Who else are the candidates for the captaincy? Whitnall, Stevens and one day Murphy; and they are all good candidates. I did lean towards Whitnall because he is a father/son recruit, has been at Carlton a long time, and shown great leadership in 2006. But sentimental tendencies aside, none of the 3 other candidates come close to Fev at this moment in time, as far as the package he brings for captaincy is concerned.

He is the face of Carlton, and he will be there for another 5 years. In that time, Fev will lead us to back to where we belong; finals and flags.

Fevola for Carlton Captain 2007.
