Round 2, Geelong v Carlton at TD

First two rounds are away games.
Guess it gives us a chance to perform before our 1st home game, which will probably be Rnd4 after a 6 day break from an interstate game in R3 vs Fremantle.

Official...just anounced on SEN that the draw has been released by the AFL.

Carlton's first game is a twilight game at the MCG against Richmond, and it was read out by Matt Thompson as a Carlton home game. Still trying to confirm that, not on the AFL website as yet.

Interesting first up test for Pagan, we should be hoping for 70,000 plus.

Might not be a test for Pagan (though that's just my gut feeling)

We play everywhere bar Nth.Territory & Canberra. I'm happy with that draw. :)

Why are we 'ripped off' playing Melbourne twice? They're the only bunny we've got at the moment.

We've also got Essendon* in the NAB cup on Feb 24 - Saturday night at Telstra Dome, then would play winner of Hawthorn and Melbourne in Tassie...

We're ripped off playing Melbourne at the G twice.
They're almost unbeatable there, but their game plan comes unstuck at the Dome. Talk to any Melbourne supporter - they hate playing at the Dome.

Another 5 Interstate so we go to Subi twice AAMI once GABBA and SCG?

We've gotta start pulling big crowds again - this sucks!

Beat me to it, but here's my summary...

First game Sunday twilight, home game at MCG v Richomond.

Play Brisbane, St Kilda, Collingwood, Port, Essendon*, North and Melbourne twice.

Travel to Perth twice, Adelaide once, Sydney, Brisbane and Gold Coast (North home game). Sydney and Brisbane are consecutive weeks, then Port 3 weeks later – so 3 interstate games in 5 weeks.

MCG games:

Richmond (h)
Essendon* x 2
Collingwood x 2
Dogs (h)
Melbourne x 2

Dome games:

Brisbane
Geelong (a)
St Kilda x 2
Adelaide
Port
Hawthorn (h)
North (h)

First 3 games are in Melbourne, Richmond @ MCG (h), Geelong @ Dome (a), Essendon* @ MCG (h). Then WC in Perth.

Friday night games: St K @ Dome (a), Hawthorn @ Dome (h).

Split round game is against Haw on Friday night, next game 2 weeks later v Freo in Perth.

For what it’s worth…

Collingwood only have 4 interstate games, all in the first 12 weeks. They have SIX Friday night games.

Essendon* have FIVE Friday night games…reward for finishing 15th!!

The club requests two Perth games each year. I think they request two Adelaide ones as well.

I reckon the draw is pretty good. From a winning games point of view we come up against 5 of this years top 8 only once. I reckon we've done pretty well.
