Quote:
Sheedy said he was particularly impressed with a number of players' improvement since arriving in Ireland, including Carlton midfielder Kade Simpson, who was one of the standouts in the scratch match with his run and carry a feature of his game.

"I think (Kade) Simpson had done very well and we were hoping that and every moment (Brent) Stanton is looking quite good and (Brendan) Fevola has started to take some good marks," Sheedy said.

Yes he had a breakthrough year...but I get the funny feeling he's still going....just starting to get noticed by some ....Go Simmo

Yeah his development has been very gradual so there is no reason why it shouldn't continue.

Well done Simmo just dont get hurt.

PS I still hate the thought of the Bumbers Old man as our international coach.

Kade Simpson was a member of the 2002 TAC All-Australian Side, he was rated by many pundits to go Top 20 at that draft - but slipped through to 45, probably because of his slight build.

We were lucky to get him.

I reckon our success in that draft in nailing Simpson and Fisher with late picks, is part of the reason that "The Spew" has changed the priority pick criteria this year which prevents us from legitimately claiming more than 1 top 4 choice.

"The Spew" has said we were treated "lightly" in our penalties from Black Friday 2002  , - the change in criteria to the Priority Pick qualification penalizes us this year when we need assistance the most, and its "The Spew's" way of sticking it too us again.

I suppose it's very selfish of me to be a bit worried that Simmo isn't getting a good end of season rest considering he's one our our prolific 'runners' who clocks up a million miles during the regular season.
I hope he gets some extra time off when they get back. We need Simmo 'going' for 22 rounds next year.

The extra cardio work for international rules shouldn't have an effect on his season. But an injury sustained in this match would.

Its a bit like how the Aussie state cricketers go and play county cricket during the off season. They always seem to get injured, especially the bowlers.

If Fev or simmo get injured...grrr

touch wood on the injury front, but I think it will only be good for his development...and it's a game that suits his natural instinct...get the ball and run

Does anybody know if the games are shown on free-to-air?

I've been scouring the tv guide but can't located the series anywhere...

Midday Sunday, and then 11.30 next Sunday on Ch. 10.

I'm also uncomfortable with Sheedy in charge. Either he gets in your players ears, or gets too close a look at them. Stay away, you old rummy!

Didn't Sheeds have his eye on Simmo earlier in the year?

He would be in the box seat to see what gun players are like from opposition teams if he was to try and get them to the Scum at the end of their contracts and the players wouldn't mind being coached by him on this fun little junket that is the IRS.

Alot of our kids have been doing work out of season. Forgot which player said that to the media recently. Might of been Simmo actually.
