I don't think that Mitchell's win loss ratio or how 'badly' he performed in the finals should even be discussed.

Mitchell, either actively went after his DP's job or was led to believe that by going for the 'interview' that he would get the job, it is now untenable that he be signed up as an assistant.

How can DP be endorsed as senior coach only to have the guy who was gunning for him be his assistant?

What must the players think of all of this?

Mitchell deserves a new contract...he has delivered on developing some younger talent and also did well with the Bullants.
Denis must be feeling a tad uncomfortable...
I see Tony Elshaugh will be getting a gig with the Saints...mistake No 2 from Ross Lyon....

You've got to be joking.

He had the most talented 2s list of the competition and bombed out in the finals. His performance was very much like a St Kilda coach recently sacked... The club need to consider a coach that could eventually be elevated to the 1s. Mitchell does not have the support of all supporters nor does he have the charisma to inspire the players and people around him. There would be plenty of club greats in line before him.

Gee, imagine making preliminary finals. I though our team had no talented. Now the 2's are suddenly the most talented. Gee, so much depth. Pity about the sppons. I'd have Mitchell way before Pagan. If our 2's are the most talented as you say Mitchell must be doing a pretty fair job developing them. Pity about the spoons.

Jimbo, you keep mentioning spoons? What's this got to do with the 2s?
Try making an argument that actually makes sense.

It's about some having a go at Mitchell for "failing" in the finals so I'm making a comparison for the simple minds like yourself who aren't smart enough to understand.

I've heard Mitchell is popular with the players and that he has done well with developing the young players, but you would have re-signed Grant Thomas using your argument. But he hasn't succeeded in the finals so get off your high horse.

Exactly.
