Well....it'll be good having a player at Carlton who pushes ANY player around!

Ackland was getting smashed in the ruck against Cox (no disgrace) and Blake went into the ruck and did much better (winning hitouts etc).
He went over to Sugar and was trying to rev him up and give him a few pointers on how to play against Cox better, and Ackland got angry at the implication he was playing poorly (which he was).

There is no love lost between those two ...

Anyway, skeptic gave a pretty fair summary of Ackland, except I thought it was a bit negative; he played 10-12 very good games for us in a row in 2005, and is capable of this form ... if he can play like that at the Blues for the next three years, he will be a better ruckman than Barnaby French was ...

Cain will be just like we never lost French... Bit shorter, younger, capable but no star.... Three years on and he'll be ready for a second fiddle role.
He'll do for 3 years and then who knows....

The Port Adelaide big man proved an excellent replacement for the Richmond-bound Trent Knobel in 2005 as he quickly established himself as the club's No1 ruckman. Played 22 games after making just 12 senior appearances with the Power, and was also a useful tall option up forward. Crowned his debut season with eighth in the best and fairest.
