fair point DOA i think shit canning players and bagging out is not right though i confess i prob have done on a limited occasion but i do belive in constructive comment and believe that is a better approach overall and i was a bit dissappointed about how JR was bagged when he was looking at going back to Port as i really dont think he was at fault but more the Club had let him down.

I do confess to being quite negative to Campo and wont change my opinion there but i do believe players shoud be given praise or constructive comment as a discussion point.

But i agree with you sentiments

Agree with the substance and tone of the post.
But, it(original post) was never intended to be a JR issue, extends beyond that.
Simply.what is to be gained by logging on to a "supporters forum"and slagging players?
I can assure all TC posters,I have yet to meet a CFC player who has heard of this forum.

I am not alone!

It baffles me too: day in, day out. I just don't get it either. Across four + Carlton fan forums I have over 10,000 posts and not one of them slagging off a Carlton player. Collingwood players, Essendon* players...yes...but Carlton players -- no way!

The rules are you cannot publicly tell a member of a fan forum what you think about them but can say whatever you want about a member of a footy team. Don't ask me...I don't make the rules but that's the way it works.

When you lay into a fan forum prima donna (which I have done on occasions...they take themselves so seriously) you are considered the scum of the earth, but when you lay into a footballer (who is infinitely more skilled than any fan forum prima donna) you're built up as some sort of hero.

It just doesn't make sense.

Fan forum posters like all of us are really wannabe taxi drivers. Got an opinion on everything.

Mrs Caz has just inducted you into the rules committee, Verbs me Man.
Your last sentence clinched the decision.

I think I discovered a year or so ago that the code of conduct didn't apply to players and they were fair game but heaven help me if I dared have a go at any poster here. It's tempting but I'd be in BIG trouble wouldn't I?

The problem is how people interpret posts, not all of us are Mike Fitzpatricks on here and that is the problem.

Anyway I've learnt my lesson in English this week, won't make that mistake again. Now if you can leave me in piece while I ring up and slag my Year 12 English Teacher

Maybe you should start your own forum where it is all bright and happy, where wooden spoons turn into lollipops. That way all the people who clap the team off after they give up and bend over can all escape reality.

I really enjot it when you do that verbs. One of the highlights of the site.

I think there's a big difference between abuse and arguing a point. Argue a point all you like and that's a fundamental part of the site, but just name calling is childish and irrelevant.

As for the players... is 'crap' or 'shizen' just another way of saying 'not up to it in my opinion'?
