Agreed, I reckon he will get his name on the locker. If the cut gets to bannister it has gone one too deep IMO.

The list on Oct 31 is the first of 3 lodgements. Still 2 more to go so players can still be delisted even if retained on Oct 31.

How's Davies medical condition? Is he able to train?

Yeah, but he's better off catching a bus.

If the club was serious about rebuilding and getting rid of players that won't be on our list in 2 or years time the following players should be axed regardless of being contracted or not:

Teague (horrible last game against the Swans - was embarrassing to see him playing that day)
Deluca - not up to it, can't mark and cant kick - why is he on our list?
Bannister - Poor decision maker and no awareness
Saddington - Injury has crippled him yet we sign him up...that’s Pagan!!
Bryan - Good VFL player
Davies - Has had chances, lacks desire and passion to make it at the top level

Mclaren to only stay on as a back up to acland. The rest should be moved on and thanked for their services.
Lets get some more picks in this draft and have a crack at some kids.

You do all in one hit and it means you might have to delist 2 or 3 kids next year. They should delist a maximum of 10, which will be 11 in total with Frenchs retirement. That's still pretty good and will give us some flexibility next year. That will mean only 3-4 of the non-long term players will be kept.

Was listening to Liam Pickering on SEN on the weekend, I guess they he must manage Davies. Said that Davies was fit and ready to go, they were just trying to work out his 'status' for next year with the Club. Read into that what you will.

Smith was unlucky but didnt show a lot when he did get his chance....Bannister did ok bar one shocker vs Collingwood and deserves to stay on the list..I'm a fan and think he has improved his disposal and gives us some run, just needs to improve his awareness. Looked to me like he had played too much VFL footy and thought he had more time whcih you dont gte at senior level.

I would cut Davies...done nothing except a few cameos vs Collingwood...
With Deluca perhaps giving it away you would have to stick with Chris Bryan and give him one more chance to make it....entertaining player to watch with all the skills just needs to lose the laconic mentality and get fitter and more intense...he will get his chance at some stage when Ackland gets dropped..

If Davies is fit, then he has made a hell of a recovery.

I wish he were fit: then he could at least show he deserved to stay on last time. He has talent, but needs to show it for more than 1/4 at a time.

Was I guess if they believe he's fit and firing. Last I heard, it was still an issue.

Well I think that only leaves Simon Wiggins and Jarrad Waite left from the class of 2000 and 2001.

All the best for the future Davies

Had big hopes for him when he debuted looking like Bobby Brady in 2002. Alas, it wasn't to be…but we'll always remember those 3 final qtr goals against Coll in 2004.

The club made the right decision by delisting Davies....

I've got a 2005 team poster in my office, 18 players are now gone from it, about 41% of the list since last year.

It's shame - always thought he could make it. Good luck with his back injury. Hope that's taken care of because you tend to carry them for life.
