He may use the standard Collingwood, I was just waiting for a taxi.

I think Grover got off away with putting him in a headlock and slamming him into the turf so I'm sure Fev will get off with a warning.

Maybe Fev needs to go to that health retreat a couple of times and have skinfolds over one hundred before he's qualified to Captain Carlton.

That's leadership.

I can confirm it.
That's what happens when you don't let Fev play.

Despite all his weaknesses that all of you love to point out the fact is that Fevola was the only player that brought any worthwhile joy to me as a Carlton supporter this year.

He brought honour to this club by winning the Coleman medal – one of only two Carlton players to do it in the history of the club. I would much prefer to forgive a Coleman medalist than someone like Tarrant etc.

I purchased games on dvd from this year purely just to see the best of Fevola in action.

Fevola being a long way from home – not having the support of his wife and the obvious discrimination of Sheedy in not selecting him would have all been factors. Either way – yes .. he should have risen above it.

Some of you are advocating that Whitnall should be captain. I will say anyone AND I MEAN ANYONE BUT WHITNALL should be captain. I would prefer anyone as captain than a worthless walker/jogger. How can Whitnall provide inspiration?

He can barely run … correct me if I am wrong but Australian Football requires players that can run and run fast. Whitnall cannot do this. It has to be Stevens as captain.

Fancy dropping a KPP for a player who is as sweet kick as you'd ever seee and a half forward who is suited to playing International Rules. :?

Not particularly disturbed by this development.

Positives for Carlton:

- He can't get hurt

- He realises once and for all that abstinence form alcohol is the only way he functions properly

- He's highly unlikely to drink in the pre-season

- He gets a full pre-season

- He can't get hurt next year in the series cos the fools will probably suspend him from it.

- Better now than after he was potentially made captain

Negatives:

- Fev looks silly. Big deal

- One horse race for captain. Not great but who cares - murph will be captain soon enough and next year's captain doesn't matter so much.

Overall this isn't a bad thing. If there's a time to learn a lesson for FEV the perfect time is in October in another country with another team.

The West light the fires and the East use the extinguishers. :P

Good on ya Fev. If an Irishman stoped serving me drinks I'd also put him in a headlock.

Seriously big deal.

Fev is Fev, he is an enigma. Better value than 95% of the robots that run around in the AFL these days.

No biggie.

Though I wonder, with no chaperone on the plane home, will he have a few drinks?

You're the dumbest person on here despite being educated and you continuously needle people. You can always post elsewhere if you can't put up with someone who has a different opinion.

You called FrankDardew a clown and you're as thick as your username.

The players attended the races in Galway on Sunday but Demetriou said that was no excuse for Fevola's behaviour.

Fevola was involved in physical confrontation with a staff member at a nightclub on Sunday evening.

"It didn't happen to any other player, so I don't think you could attribute a day out," Demetriou said.

"The coaching panel deemed it to be a free day and we were all at the races and we had a good time and not many people I was with were drinking heavily or drinking. Everyone has got to be responsible for their actions and mature enough.

"We've got 20-something-odd other players here and they didn't get involved in that sort of incident."

Much as we hate the Spew, can't fault this. For a guy getting 450k or thereabouts to be the face of Carlton it is monumentally stupid, although I wonder why no-one tried to rein him in. Anyway, I always thought Karl Norman should have been given another year and he couldn't have been any stupider than this. If Fev wanted to go on the tour - and he clearly did - why not go off the piss for two more weeks. Funny to think a few weeks ago Fev was asked to give Tarrant advice, fortunately he was smart enough to not offer any.

Still as others have said the embarrasment should keep him off the turps and he won't get injured. Why is it that just when a few moderately good things happen we take a big step backwards. We have a lot in common with St Kilda of the mid 80s. Anyway the captaincy has been decided by this if it was ever in doubt. Fev has delievered one stellar season and two half stellar seasons in 9. Lets hope he is off the grog until about 2012

Carlton friendly commitee that suspended Fev:

Demetriou
Anderson
Gale
Sheedy
Fletcher

At least he can get payback on the last two.

Fevolution, seriously, you need to work on this idol complex, its rose tinted glasses, THE POLICE WERE INVOLVED!!!! He is representing his Country, and fans like you, now, no matter how much you love/are in love with him, and there is no doubting he is a grreat player, one of my faves, he was in the wrong, Australia just got beat, in a match they claim they wanted to win, fev was dropped, sooooo, does he fight like a future captain and set a good example, is first on the training pitch and last off of it to shoe Sheedy he was wrong.......

Game... jeez man you are one outspoken dude,Davis proved he can do it last year, he destroyed us, then set up your only goal in the game and got some important scores and took some good marks, I would say decision was justified at this point.

AND ANOTHER THING, you, in another post opinionated that we(Irish) cried, bitched, whinged and moaned about how we were beat up last year.

Check this and let me know how you get on. check the links first then the pic.

Davis had a s#$% year Beano and doesn't even deserve to be there. What he did last year is irrelevant.

When our own posters can't discuss this without silly digs at each other (THeGame, Juzz I'm looking at you) I'm not surprised that Fev seems to have lost the plot.

I know what he did was wrong...but come on how many times have one of us made a mistake (granted that this mistake was HUGE!). What Fev doesnt need now is all of his 'fans' bagging him over this (very silly) incident as it may just be what makes him go back to his old ways (I'm sure his wife will give him an ear full).
Despite this, I still think he is a legend and a great guy both on and off the field.
