I am being serious here, but i reckon Fevola needs a bit of anger management, he obviously have trouble controlling his emotions, during the season we see him completely loses it on field and he needs to be taken off to the bench for the whole quarter, and he comes back in the next quarter and kicks a bag.
People says he has changed his attitude this year, and I would say it's bullshit, he has not changed one bit. The only difference between this season and his previous seasons, is that there are just less incidents that has occured on-field that makes him loses his temper, and these lesser incidents are beyond his control, it's just that everything fortunately has gone his way. You can't guarantee everything will go his way in the future, so for the sake of the club, please take him to some anger management course.

I know what I was getting up to at his age. Sure, he's in the public eye, but he's a young bloke, cashed-up, having a good time. I never required anger management or any of that crap and I was 100 times worse than he is. Media and those who believe every beaten up story they read, keep making mountains out of molehills. The whole thing is so sanitised these days that we don't let the players be 'people' first.

Personally ......... who cares as long as he's playing for Carlton and kicking goals.

Maybe giving him the captaincy or vice captaincy could make him mature and take a bit more responsibility. Seems to have worked for Brown at Brizzy.

I was just reading the thread and the very same thought was going through my head as 95perfection wrote

He needs more responsibility to become more responsible. He's going to conquer the 100 goals responsibility in 2007.

He's our champion player.

Couldn't disagree more, on two counts...

1. Brown is not yet captain at Brisbane, he has sorted himself out of his own accord, and has proven himself, and will probably get the captaincy because of that.

2. The captaincy of the Carlton Football Club is NOT something that is used to help players mature...to do that is to devalue it. It is an honour that must be earned over a period of time of proving oneself as a footballer, a leader, a role model and a person, and only then is it bestowed upon a player.

If he kicks five goals in round one on the end of passes from Gibbs and Murphy everyone in the media will conveniently forget what he did on an end of season of trip and want a piece of him again.

I'm not defending what he allegedly did but it's a storm in a teacup a teacup and blown out of proportion because it's the off season.

Reading all that, it speaks volumes to me about how much effort his wife and Pagan put into Brendan.

Hopefully we get to hear more about this incident, particularly what was uttered by the barman prior to calling security.

He said Fevola was annoyed when the barman stopped serving him. "Brendan became quite angry and an assault occurred. Not an assault with fists, but by way of a headlock."

I haven't read the whole thread, but does anyone else have reservations about the fact that two of the 'disciplinary panel' that condemned and expelled Fev were the coach of our chief rivals and his full-back, Fev's likely opponent next time we meet?

Regardless - stoopid Fev - when will these guys ever learn???

You get paid $2-300,000 a year, fame and accolades etc etc. One of the drawbacks of this lifestyle that they ALL sign up for, is that you CAN'T go to a nightclub and get pissed and then get all rowdy and agro and expect that somehow it will all blow over.

Not just talking about Fev - I'm talking about all of them - in all codes.

Is the culture of going out and getting pissed so ingrained that we simply can't assert the discipline to avoid it??

Without the important people (Wife, Daughter and Denis) around him, Fev could certainly hit rock bottom if he is not careful. He needs those people. Someone like Fev (i.e. Gardiner, Norman-Angwin, Nick Davis and to a lesser extent, Tarrant) all are co-dependant people. Without a significant other(s), they struggle hard.

I don't think you can ever change Fev, you can only support him and give him confidence. I think they actually have tests like this at the draft camp, you can get a fairly accurate assessment on a player's psyche to determine if they can cope with the pressures of an AFL player. Would think Fev didn't do a great job, but talent was too overwhelming to overlook, whilst Judd would've been nigh on perfect.

Anyway, good luck Fev. Hope you can keep everything together.

Good night all!

If Sheedy was the one in the headlock they should give Fev a medal.
Probably wont get the captaincy .IMO he still should be captain. More responsibility brings the best out in Fev. His in a different country.he is pissed he is not getting a game he is away from the misses and kidlits. Shit happens. Knowing our club and the way the culture of footy now there will be a knee jerk reaction and Fevs name will be crossed out the small potential group of captaincy replacements.

Hopefully the Pagan and his cohorts might think a bit deeper and broader .No doubt about it Fevs a moron at times but in the right environment he is our best choice of captain.Still giving him the captaincy is the best move.

The worst thing is, now this guy, who, lets face it, was only in a headlock is going to be a martyr to this, giving the like of the game more ammo against us Irish, when, so far I thin the guy is a tool for speaking about it.

I'm just waiting for the league to deregister Fev for the entire 2007 season to ensure we win another spoon

Before you ask if they can do that, well they are the AFL so they can do what ever they want to there whipping boys.

the world has gone mad

for once i agree with Synbad

this is nothing more than a 26 year old, drinking too much and getting into abit of trouble.

the way people put footballers on a pedestal is the problem, not that these blokes are footballers.

He's a total knob, not only for what he did, but for putting himself in a position where something like this can happen.

Synbad...... MY GOD!! Thank the lord you're nowhere near the decision table at Carlton if you STILL think this bloke should lead quality young men for the next several years  .

It proves to me you have absolutely NO idea whatsoever!!

The Duke,.. that might be because were low on captaincy material around the club.
Some dont have any cauliflower in them at all...

and others cant play front liner positions...

Anyway.... its not everyday that Fev will be away from the scrutiny of Alex and Co...

We need a real captain dont we???
