Complete beat up and Demitr-spew is a joke.

I've said it elsewhere in another thread. The AFL is the biggest joke in running a major sporting league in the world. Major issues eg the draw, TV rights, drugs, viability of teams, financial imbalances, the draft etc are left to bubble on the back burner without any action.

And now they spend all their time making a scapegoat out of one player.

If it was an issue that he was drinking, then the others he were with must also be dealt with.

I say good on him for blowing the lid on this series and showing it for what it is - a bloody jaunt paid for by us and enabling a swag of AFL officials a junket.

This was a very stupid thing for Fevola to do.
Rightly he was sent home. He has to face the shame of his actions.

But what a F@%&#! beat-up. You would have thought he punched a nun while he was in Ireland. He put a barman in a headlock after he was refused more alcohol.
Stupid yes. An embarrassment to Australia, give me a break.

Jeff Kennett can get F@%&#!. We'll see what happens when one of his pretty boys F@%&#! up next time.
As for Neil Mitchell, if there is a bigger indictment on Australian journalism I'd like to see it. His head is stuck so far up his arse, even his shoulders are brown.

To all the outraged people out there, GET A LIFE

Anyone see the pic of the barman? That 'bruising' faded damn quick!

I urge everyone to hit the airwaves and feedback lines and call this what it is - BEAT UP!

Apparently bruises on this bloke don't show up as on most other people - must be that olive skin

"Fevola-gate" - there are not enough garths to express my feelings at the moment.

Certainly the AFL has abit of explaining to do in regards to their handling of the situation.

How so, Mrs Caz?

Well, if they want everyone to take this event seriously, why are the players out for over 10 hours in between Tests? I don't have a prob with htem sampling the sites and events of the city they are visiting, but a 10 hour bender? (If true 8) ).

Where is the comment from the coach, team manager, team captain, senior members of touring group to say this was against team instructions?

I hate the fact that grown men need to be baby-sat, but time and again footballers indicate that they might need it.

Then, while Brendan is apparently under police investigation (with the "victim" suposedly determined to pursue the case), the AFL bundles Brendan onto a plane to leave the country? All seems to be mis-handled to me.

What a filthy Chav. Get a look at this freak. I bet he has those really freaky white sneakers, sorry, trainers, on with his baggy jeans. And if that trainer top was undone you'd see the big gold blingy necklace round his neck. FILTHY CHAV.

Wish Fev didn't play the race card..that might come back to bite him....the four aboriginal boys have denied any racial taunts etc according to the AFL...

From one of the articles.
Quote:
Fevola said the squad's indigenous team members had not been insulted directly, but that taunts about them had been communicated to other Australian players.

One of the AFL cronies on SEN this morning (Keane?), confirmed that the four aboriginal boys were not directly taunted, but made a point of not discounting Fevs original claim. Sadly the line of questioning did not pursue this fact... obviously more interesting to go with the inflammatory alternative.

Without condoning Fevs behaviour, 'Paul' does have a very 'headlockable' head!

The fact that this has been the front page of ther HUN two days running... Just as the state election campaign officially begins is... Well, I hesitate to use the word disgrace, because it's been bandied about so much these past few days... but you understand what I mean.

I'd have preferred it if they'd gone with the headline:
"25 year-old Bogan gets into argument with Irish bartender whilst on holidays"

Maybe then we'd have less hype.

The headline should read:

"Footballing bogan grapples with Irish bogan in pub. Irish bogan miffed because it messed his greasy hair up"
