I've said it elsewhere in another thread. The AFL is the biggest joke in running a major sporting league in the world. Major issues eg the draw, TV rights, drugs, viability of teams, financial imbalances, the draft etc are left to bubble on the back burner without any action.

And now they spend all their time making a scapegoat out of one player.

If it was an issue that he was drinking, then the others he were with must also be dealt with.

I say good on him for blowing the lid on this series and showing it for what it is - a bloody jaunt paid for by us and enabling a swag of AFL officials a junket.

Well, if they want everyone to take this event seriously, why are the players out for over 10 hours in between Tests? I don't have a prob with htem sampling the sites and events of the city they are visiting, but a 10 hour bender? (If true ).

Where is the comment from the coach, team manager, team captain, senior members of touring group to say this was against team instructions?

I hate the fact that grown men need to be baby-sat, but time and again footballers indicate that they might need it.

Then, while Brendan is apparently under police investigation (with the "victim" suposedly determined to pursue the case), the AFL bundles Brendan onto a plane to leave the country? All seems to be mis-handled to me.

This could trigger an international incident !!!!!
