I looked at this page and found it quite bizzare. I felt pride, horror, anguish, humour and bewilderment. What a ride we supporters have been on the last few years!
  :x    8) :?

If you were putting together a list from scratch, there's only 7 or 8 players there that you would want to have on that list...not a great reflection on our recruiting back then.

Steve Kenna was unlucky, very handy player iin the SANFL and like Bret Backwell probably didnt get the extra year he should have ...especially considering the duds we kept for longer.....

Dunno about that.

He was fast and had very good skills, but when it came to crumbing the ball he fumbled it too much for my liking. Whereas Eddie hits the crumb at full pace, picks up the ball cleanly and usually nails the goal.

Stevie couldn't quite do it.

Agree to a point but he has matured and would have three yards of pace on Eddie...Kenna is being used on the ball in the SANFL and provides a fair degree of run all be it at reduced pressure compared to AFL...
Eddie provides better tackling etc..Kenna's defensive skills like Backwells are probably where they would come unstuck at AFL level...

What a sad list of players just goes to show there is very little success in recycling players.

Interesting how "useless bastard" and "best and fairest" come together over the 2 posts. He was actually quite brilliant for us after round 7 in 2002. 40 goals and our no.1 ruck. Held both togther on his own. Pity the bloke he walked away from at North re-emerged at Carlton. Suppose he wouldn't be the first.

Geez we've recruited some ugly footballers.

And a couple of pretty bad photographers too.

I'd like to know how many of those forty goals were kicked in the last 1/4 oncer we were already 15 goals down.

Provided nothing when we needed it.
