Fevola wont be captain but should be Captain. Has most of respect of the players is the perfect age and the extra responsibility will bring the best out him.

Who flower cares what Caro, Kennett ,Mitchell or any other media good doer junky thinks. I still think Fev is the best man for the job.

How does Lance "deserve it"?
I cant be 100% confident he'll show up to pre season in half decent shape, can you?
Koutoufides has his deficiencies but at least he shows the right example for physical preparation year after year. He's nowhere near the best leaders in the AFL but he's the best we have at the moment. I'd ask him to stay on for another yer and pray that one of the youngsters takes giant steps.

Lance can still be an on field leader, he doesnt need a title for that. The captain needs to represent the club off field as well and Lance comes up well short in that regard.

Well, there's a football team in America which is managed by the fans online. Each week they cast their votes, and majority rules. They are coming dead last.

Here's a radical idea : Kouta should stay on a captain to give Murphy and co more time to develop.

I agree with Blue Vain, Whitnall and Fev simply don't deserve it... and both owe the club for their varying levels of commitment over the seasons

Although I love the romance in the "Kernahan for captain at 23" theory...the problem is we ain't got no "Kernahans" on our list at present.

As I said we are not choosing from a Cox Plate field of candidates. I actually wouldn't mind Kouta staying on as captain for another year. But I think that Lance provides the most onfield leadership out of anybody we have at the moment. Lance is a bit quiet in terms of representing the club but he does still do a few media interviews etc and I think comes across quite well and does know the game well. I think that if he was made captain he would be ok in this area. Anyway, he wouldn't be the only low-profile captain in the league.

Wouldn't you rather let him focus on his own game without worrying about the extra burden of being captain? Again I'm not dismissing his leadership credentials but he's only played 55 games and is only 20 years old. He only really established his place in the side this season. He has a fair way to go and needs to concentrate on his own performances before having to worry about those of his teammates. Maybe down the track he'd be an option but too young and inexperienced at this stage.

In today's Sunday Herald-Sun (page 73) Kouta is quoted as saying "Maybe, we'll see", when asked if be might change his mind on the captaincy in light of the Fevola incident.

Na, AW’s a gun IMO.
He’s got his head screwed on.
He’s got a professional, no bullshit 100% approach to being the best.
He’s comes across as very strong-willed & mentally tough.
Plays with heart & loves the mighty blues.
Has all the right attributes to lead the new young gun blues. Captain written all over him.
Future 300 gamer & a big chance for the Brownlow next year is my hot tip.

Stevo & Simmo for co VCs.

Fev is a thickhead. Lance is untrustworthy. Kouta & Skinny are past it.

I can't be sure he'll keep himself physically 100%.

One example: How will he turn (roll) out after the break???

Will this be an "on" of "off" year.

And he hardly sets the world on fire in the media - whether we like it or not, a fairly important part of the job.
