Cazzesman, as a recruiting guy, I hope you realise that we all shrink around 3 cms each day as our spines compress. Therefore there is a large difference if someone is measured in the morning or afternoon. Maybe this explains how Fev can suddenly grow from 188 to 191 at the ripe old age of 25.

It amuses me when people give a player’s height as say 194.7cm because clearly it is meaningless and demonstrates the person does not know what they are talking about.

Is it the same as your IQ dropping about 55 points when you post.

I would reckon Cazz would know about this LC.

I am sure given even our football department's paucity of resources even they would know about taking measurements of players heights.

Why be so vindictively stupid about this LC?

Cazz only ever puts out good information and when he posts most people with a modicum of sense listen.

So a piece of advice LC - its only been 15 posts but perhaps you should maybe post only in the morning when your IQ is higher - or is it in the afternoon - you tell us.

Thanks LC that has been a big help. I admit I cart plenty of things around with me in my travels but one thing I always forget to pack is my trusty Lufkin tape measure.

Memo to self for 2007...."pack tape measure."

Interesting you mention the 194.7cm aspect.

I will pass on your thoughts to the AIS measurement takers. They all included a "." 'Something' in the recent heights they took at Draft camp. I guess if you are going to measure something you might as well get it as close as you can.

Seeing they measured all 72 players at DC within a few hours of each other I'm guessing the end result will be that all 72 players will grow and shrink at the same time. Then I guess it's all proportional.

Regards Cazzesman

Do you think Karl is still 194.7cm?

Maybe they should also quote heights like they do time with a "AM" or "PM".

Agro, why the abuse? I was not trying to be contentious. People were posting re height discrepancies and I pointed out an obvious explanation in that our heights vary considerably as the day progresses. I am not involved with AFL recruitment, but I now know, as Cazzesman has pointed it out, there is a convention where players are all measured at the same time, so fair enough.

Nikolay Valuev, alias the Beast from The East. At 214cm (measured in the morning I believe) and 150 KG, he about fits the bill I reckon. :-D

Perhaps if Ackland goes nigh nighs during the day and gets up just before a game he'll be closer to ruck height?

Just a thought.

Sorry but when I saw the words "Cazzesman" and "doesnt know what they are talking about" in the same post I took umbrage.

He's a donkey Graeme, a protected fighter who has never faced a guy who can punch. When he does we'll feel the earthquake down here when he hits the canvas.
