Spoke beautifully in regards to the incident and about his teammate Fevola.

Now that is an impressive interview and stance. That would have to be the most impressive Carlton related press or interview or article that we have had for 2 years - ever since Pagans Blue Skies Ahead article

I didnt know Rabbit had it in him. That is fantastic.

So who do you believe Rabbit or Ratdog McDemetriou?

Doesnt think we have a captain at the club is what i read out of that article.
In my opinion Fevola [REDACTED] up but he was left high and dry by a number of people who in my opinion [REDACTED] up more.

Noone went over to him to council him in what to do or say...

And Demetriou is about to get the biggest cracker in the clacker of all time by this club.,

I thought that quote above was very interesting. Reckons we should give it to a kid, i thought Lance and he got on fine. Obviously not.

Demetriou is going to be made look like a fool after this ireland junket, just wonder if the media will let him get away with it or bring him to account for his blatant lies and the way he hung Fev out to dry.

Good article, really stong endorsement of Lance as next captain.

Demetrious days of treating the club like his own personal toy are just about over anyway...

It will be going the other way around soon... 8)

Bring it on.

And I agree, That's the quote I took from the article - no obvious captain at the club.

Crikey Synbad, sometimes reading your posts is like deciphering a Nostradamus quatrain. SAY WHAT YOU MEAN, MAN!!!

What an amazing comment by Matthew re the captaincy. Surely he realises that will get back to Lance?

So which one of the younger guys has he got in mind, I wonder?

Why has it taken so long for someone to come out in support like that.

After the twin twits "Spew" and Patrick Keane said that Fev was wrong about some racial comments being made about the Aboriginal players - (they & the journos pretty much said he made it up).....why didn't Lappin and Schneider then come out in support of Fev and say some comments were made to us about "Abo's"......

Instead for a week, most people have thought Fev made it up to justify his actions.

Posters say - Well done Lappin.....so do I, but I also say why were you so late saying it??????

Well done Matty.

I've spoken to heaps of people about this incident and the consensus from all football supporters is strom in tea cup and complete hanging out to dry by Jabba.

As one Collingwood supporter said, this is all Tarrants 'fault' with his nightclub incident.

Jabba has completely misread the lay of the land and has allowed the media to run the agenda. We must have long memories and give this idiot as much crap as he deserves. he is simply a buffoon fiddling while AFLm issues burn around him.

The AFL were ready and willing to sacrifice one of their own (even if he was stupid) to continue along the road of pretending this is a real internationally important series.
The AFL needs the Irish games for credibility in its own mind.
Fev just happened to be the patsy this time.
Good on Lappin for stepping forward and showing some leadership and backbone for his teammate.
Also for having the guts and foresight about his comment to pass the capataincy to one of the younger guys.

I reckon if anyone doubted Lappins love for the club and his team that would dispell it.

The kind of thing we need more of.

Am I alone in thinking that Matty Lappin is probably the best communicator to the media that we have on our list?

On radio he handles himself well, he is honest but not blunt enough to cause a headline. He comes across well in print too -- his sentences are rounded and he seems to sum up the situation very well.

Compare him to Kouta -- who trundles out the usual -- and Lance who fires away like a machine gun, Matty would have to be the most composed.

I still wish he had said something a week earlier to help shore up Fevs comments.

Wouldn't blame Matthew Lappin for this.

I would have thought "The Spew" and his tosspot lacky Patrick Keane would have put a blanket ban on the touring party to comment about the Fevola incident to the press.

So the press in their infinite wisdom would have just reported "The Spew's" bullshit about their being no evidence of racial slurring.

Now that Lappin is home - he has finally been interviewed and quoted.

The AFL prefer to play word games.
Keane did'nt say that no one heard racial comments, he stated that the aboriginal players had'nt heard anything.
It's similar to when the AFL were accused of tampering with Carltons board meetings. Demetriou consistently stated that he had'nt heard anything.
He did'nt say it did'nt happen.

It's the Bill Clinton defence.

What about that arsehole Brendon Gale, he was over their and crucified Fev as well. Is he suppose to be representing the best interests of the players or not.

He needs a rocket up his arse as well and i hope he gets whats coming to him.

Like Lee Harvey Oswald .. Fev wasnt alltogether innocent and an angel.

But the fact remains that they allowed the coleman medalist to be crucified and just stood back for the benefit of an alien game.
