Zero chance of that happening now. What's the point of starting yet another thread?

People were probably saying similar things about Ricky Ponting after the Bourbon and Beefsteak incident.

It would have been great pre Ireland to see Fev as the public face of the club off field, and Lance as the captain on field giving instructions to the boys.

Now I think the whole idea has been turned on its head - Fev can't be relied on as the public face for at least another 2 years incident free.

Kouta can't do either job on, or off the field so given the circumstances I'd still put Lance in charge and have Stevens as the media face of the CFC.

Yes, dual captains - very Grant Thomas of me, I know, but I can't see any alternative for another 2 years when Murphy will have the job to lead us into a GF again.

It took years after the B & B incidient for Ponting to be made Captain .

By the time this blows over the Murphster will be in the job. For now though i think that the club will go the safe Lance option with Fev covering things like the footy show and maybe one of the new coaches being rolled out for other interviews.

I think this incident will make Fev determined to put in a huge effort next season. Coleman medal this year, who know what he can achieve next year. The club has to stand by him in this though and show they support him and believe his version of events. They need to shoot Demetriou down in flames.

We watched the replay last night of the mongrel game and Kade is coming along nicely.

I had to convince my son skinny was indeed on the field. He looks much better for the haircut.

well it seems that Lance doesn't have the backing by his team-mates according to Lappin the age article. It seemed that Fev would have probaly got the support of the players. Now i know he stuffed but it could give himself to redem himself in a big way and im sure fev will set himself to have a big season. Just a thought.

Is Nick Stevens the forgotten man in all this captaincy discussion? Of what's available, he's as suited as anyone to caretake the role until such a point that one of our youngsters (okay, Murph) is ready to take the reins.

It was with interest that I noted that both Lance and Stevens commenced pre season training underweight to compared to last year..............
