Yesterday Deluca was on the CFC list and he was never really going to play much in the ruck in 2007. Acland, Mclaren and Bryan were always going to do the bulk of it on game day.

Today Deluca is no longer with CFC so the effect that has on our ruck stocks is negligible really.

So why look at an unknown like Griffith who is 23 and been passed over 5 years in a row.

There is obviously Leuy, Renouf, Hampson, Tippet and Jacobs all 200+ to pick from. Would you give up a spot for Griffith instead of one of the above?

Regards Cazzesman

The point here is about recruiting a mature age ruckman who is at least 200 cms + tall, so that the young ruckmen we recruit this year are not thrown into combat early, and a bit of lateral thinking to solve our ruck problems. Given that we have 7 spots free on the list, a late pick could be used. Delist Bryan if you have to, but lets try something new rather than more of the same that does not work. A one year deal perhaps?

Now Griffith may or may not be a good get, and you would know that better than me. But the idea seems to have merit in my view.

Either show yourselves and put yourself up for election or pierce off back into the never never land where i think these individuals come from. I'm just sick of hearing behind the scenes this, they will do this, they will do that. It's bollocks, come out and show your faces. Tell us HOW you will turn this club around. It's driving me insane

Do you think putting together a ticket and challenging the board is something you do willy nilly? that it doesn't take a lot of effort? that it happens overnight? that it can't fall through easily?

Yes, they have only had 4 years.

anyone else realised that the guy we've been playing at chf has himself realised that he was no bloody good
and we still gave him 43 games and a PAIR of gloves.
Surely if we in the crowd knew he was shite howcome we had to put up with his rubbish until he graduated.
Senior AFL Football is not where University undergraduates should be earning a dollar or is it?

It's been a rumour ever since Collins was stabbed in the back, how long ago was that you tell me. Time is running out if they want to make a challenge this year for next.

Either hurry up and do it or STFU and stop destabilising the club and put all of their energies into trying to make this club great again by supporting whoevers in power instead of the witchhunt by unnamed ghosts in the background.

And, by the way i'm one that wants a change to the board. Just wish they'd bloody well hurry up and get on with it.

Lets be honest Bondi, to get to the level of finals aspirants and beyond, Adrian Deluca was never going to be the big man to help us get there.

I said what I had to say on the matter., and I'm sticking to it.

One thing about what I've stated is that I've been consistent in what I believe and have said the same message since 2004 when he started. I took into consideration that he would have ups and downs and that 2004 was remakable and I didn't think he would repeat it in the next couple of years...he didn't...but I was targeting the age of 26 for him to break through.

Did you doubt him always tub?...and you reckon he had no hope for improvement in the next 2 years?

You maybe right or wrong...we'll now never know.

I just hope supporters give Russell and Hartlett encouragement whenever they play, train or are seen on the streets...and if we take Gibbs, I hope all supporters treat him with respect and remember that he's only an 18 yo kid, and not a 25-28 seasoned champion (yet).

Don't set too high expectations too early and don't kid yourselves they will make mistakes..but better in 2007 and 2008 rather than the 2010 GF.

The difference i see between a hartlett, russell and deluca is the afformentioned 2 actually have talent. A 202cm HFF who can't ruck (nor mark the pill) isn't what we need. He's been given all the one on one coaching anybody could possibly hope for and still come up well short.

But good luck to him in the accounting field, its obviously something he's really good at.

Good things take time! They'll probably mount a challenge after we've started to climb the ladder. It will seem easier to manage then...

Nothing personal with ADL, but seriously have you ever seen a what 6ft 8in ruckman have absolutely zero influence on a match?

Good luck with your accounting degree and sayonora.

I doubt very much the names that are being spoken of now are the exact same names that were spoken of 6-12 months ago.

These things don't happen overnight. If my source is correct one of the people being spoken of has decided to leave his job and life overseas to come back to do this.

It's not a decision made lightly. And getting these types of people to commit is no easy task.

You say you want change asap but at the same time you say these people are destabilising the club by taking their time.

How are they detabilising the club? Did they force Thornton to consider walking out on the club? Are they the reason our list of sponsors is so uninspiring? Are they the ones who didn't have the balls to sack Pagan? Are they the reason Malouf talks like a frightened scaredy cat whenever he's interviewd on tv or on the radio?

Expecting all our big wigs to pull together for the common good of Carlton is unrealistic. This is football politics, there are always clashes. Many of the big wigs didn't attend Pratt's Carlton aide auction at his home a few years ago.

*BUMP*

In today's Mornington Peninsula "Independent" Newspaper; it's reported that Archie has been seriously thinking about playing with Red Hill next year; but has now decided to go overseas for a year instead.
