When is Media Watch going to rake one of these 'respected' journos over the coals? Not that Media Watch are total saints, but it would be nice to stand around the coffee van and sling shit on the clowns.

From the Adelaide Advertister

Quote:
TEENAGE Glenelg star Bryce Gibbs has not been given an iron-clad guarantee from Carlton that he will be taken with the first overall pick at the national draft, according to his manager Justin Reid.

While the Blues remain hot favourites to select the highly-talented midfielder – they sent a contingent to see him last week, including last year's No. 1 pick Marc Murphy, and are thought to have settled on him – Reid said he understood the club was still tossing up between Gibbs and exciting Western Australian ruck prospect Matthew Leuenberger.

"We still haven't been told that he'll be No. 1 and we might not even know until draft day where he is headed," Reid said.

The Kangaroos, who own the third pick, also haven't given up hope of securing Gibbs. Roos' officials also met with him in Adelaide last week.

i just dont see how taking Luenberger will solve any issues....sure the kid has performed well in the second half of this season, but i think overlooking Gibbs or Hansen in this draft in favour of luenberger would be another Carlton recruiting mistake.

lets hope WH doesnt go for the quick fix and has a look at Brisbane and West Coast as models-Midfields won them premierships. lets build a midfield. with the addition of Gibbs we have a midfield of Murphy, Gibbs and Blackwell...

im getting a rager just thinking about it.

yeah i know i know but i think it is more important to build a midfield first. if you have a quality midfield, they can rove to the opposition ruck, if your ruckman is fantastic but your midfield is lacking then he can win as many taps as he wants, doesnt mean you'll get the clearance.

As I have said before.....the midfield will get you to the Grand Final, and the Ruckman will win it for you.

Now where are we???
