You're not getting an argument from me. I have made my opinions clear a number of times on this forum.

Question is will the changes be immediate (within the month) or voted on at the AGM in March? I would assume the first option, well hope the first option.

You would think of the money is there, it would be immediate. As I said somewhere else, you can imagine the Board fighting for their positions if it simply a challenge based on performance. But if the challengers come with full pockets, it would be negligent of the incumbants not to agree to step aside.

The current Directors that would go are Graeme Smorgon, Marcus Rose, Simon Wilson and possibly Adrian Gleeson. Sticks should do the right thing and resign also however he won't....

A Board consisting of Greg Lee, Richard Newton, John Valmorbida, Bruce Matheisen, Lorraine Diggins and ???????? and ???????? would change things significantly..... This will only leave John Valmorbida, Bruce Matheisen and Lorraine Diggins from the Carlton One Ticket. The ??????? people are well connected, powerfull and financial people who have not only the knowledge and pull to turn the club around but have the ability to inject significant funds and get people back investing in the club.

I can also tell you that the ??????? will also bring most of the current factions together and pulling in the one direction....

Stay tuned as the ????????? will be revealed shortly......

That would be sweet.

But who replaces Bruce Matheison at the end of the year? Or does one spot go?

Who else would be left on the board to protect the number 5 jumper?

Read the sig. (cheers, GWS ... pat the former jeweller :P ).

Loved Sticks as a footballer but gee, smell the roses. Never know, Rumsfeld has finally gone ... :P

(Not that I'm comparing Sticks to the nutter - more his refusal to leave).

In Rumsfeld's defence, he had offered his resignation previously. But Cheney liked to have him around as a firebreak to keep the dogs from his door.

So five current directors and two new ones? Only two??????? Is that enough to overhaul the whole club?

Yes - its a balance of power thing. The five left want change - big change - but the Smorgon backed group who hold power are living in dream land thinking everything is perfect - we need no change. Add 2 more change agents with deep pockets and its all you need.

What is the limitation on serving on the board? 10 years?

How long has Sticks been there?

There was some discussion recently that they wanted to ammend the constitution (or whatever it is) to make Kernhan an exception to that rule. I think it is a maximum of two terms.

Ad man declines bid - Jim Wilson.
Quote:
But Mitchell said last night he wouldn't become involved in any rival ticket.

"I love the Carlton Football Club and I've been a lifelong supporter, but I won't be part of any ticket to unseat the current board," he said.

"It's not my style and I will never be a director or president of Carlton. I'm happy to support the club and would be happy to help in some way, but not at board level."

Mitchell was being wooed by club supporters who saw him as a potential replacement for president Graham Smorgon.

With Mitchell off the radar, there is now a concerted push to attract other prominent Carlton identities.
