I was also impressed with what I saw in that pre-season game. Reckon he could be a great "new recruit" if his body holds up. If nothing else the kid is due for some luck.

Endurance seems to be an issue though. Is there a reason he's bringing up the rear in all the time trials? Is he on a modified program?

Definitely in line to inherit the "WOOOOOF" if he can stay on the park and keep fit.

The defence is starting to come together. Setanta's improvement, Thornton staying on, Flint's elevation, who hopefully along with Hartlett will start pressing for senior selection, Saddington maybe coming on after (hopefully) an injury free pre-season, and Lance using his footy brain :-D roaming across half back and suddenly things in defence aren't looking as dire as they once were.

With the inclusion of gibbs and a couple of other kids, and the return of Murphy making our midfield rotations more efficient there should hopefully be less pressure on the backline anyway.

Love this time of year - optimism abounds!

Nice one Molsey!!

But can you edit this bit please - obviously he has been taken out of context :P

[quote="molsey"] A positive pre-season meeting with the Coaching staff has instilled him with confidence – “I had a great meeting with Denis. He said he knows I’ve got the ability and that he liked what he saw in the pre-season game against the Cats. He said the Club will give me every opportunity to perform.â€

EDIT - damn, I couldn't get the melodrama I wanted into that line. I'm sure it's from some sort of Beauty and the Beast type movie

I laugh when I hear fans say the heat should be on Raso.

Hartlett has a lot more to prove in 2007 in my view.

Harts came to my daughter's school for a footy clinic. A nicer bloke you couldn't meet!

Great read, I really like Hartlett and hope he has a cracker of a year.

I'm confident that he will make the grade providing he has some luck with injuries.
