If Sticks gets Gibbs to the club then his job is done. After that a football department or an ambassadoral role would be the way to go - not a position on the board.

Im really interested in knowing the criteria by which you and the other so called board management evaluation experts within this forum arrive at this conclusion.

Furthermore to the so called management experts calling adhoc for a revamp of the board i ask you to take your comments a step further and not stop at just a simple call for a complete board revamp enlighten the forum with what you consider to be a an ideal board structure outline for us the key areas and then discuss how the board failed. then give us a broad overview of the type of the skill set needed for a new board.. ( waiting especially for synbads comments but spare us the emotional dribble grace us with a new strategic broad outline of whats needed in your ideal board.

Another reason for sticks to walk away from the board. The current situation is untenable and is ruining all his goodwill at my household.

Can't criticise the man for being loyal, these personal attacks from supposed Carlton fans are disgraceful.

Not criticising him for being loyal, Game. I don't think anyone questions Kernahan's love for the Club, his passion, or the time and effort he puts in.

My criticism is of his performance, both on the Board and in the football department. In a time in our history where both have been at all time lows, he has been the constant in both departments during that time.

One again, I will go back to the EGM to get rid of the Elliott Board. When it came time for Kernahan to give his speech, he said he and the football department took full responsibility for the failures of that department, and the failures on field. That is, he had failed in his job on the football department.

When he was then asked about the performance of the Board, of which he was a member, his answer was, 'you'll have to ask John about that, he knows more about those things than I do'. That is, he didn't have the knowledge of someone who sits on a Board, even though he sat on the Board.

He basically told the assembled members that he had failed at the two things that he was supposed to be doing. Lo and behold, 4 years later, he's still on the Board, he's still in the football department, and both are still in a mess. Is it any surprise?

I am not questioning his love of the club. If anything it is probably clouding his judgement.

But his performance has not been up to scratch in both the board and the Football Department. Keep him around the club but not in an executive role.

The most loyal dog gets kicked out of the house when it starts to piss on the carpet constantly...

His time is up.

If he loves the club, which I know he does, then he should do the right thing and stand aside.

Or else he could end up doing the club more harm than good ala Elliott.

Problem with Sticks is he can support all the wrong presidents to the hilt.. they get the A .. then he can with full immunity hang around and do the same with the next president... and pretend nothing happened...

Thats laughable...

Was not happy with his lack of knowledge on the financial state of the Club back in 2002. It is the duty of all directors to be fully informed on the financial matters.

Also totally unimpressed on the amaterish football department review.

I have no problem with the fact that he gives his all ... but I do not think he has been able to demonstrate that he has the desired skills.

Quite happy for him to remain involved as a Club ambassador.
