Interesting on that Richmond site that they have numbered every player in order of debut, is this something that CFC have done? imagine every player being given two numbers - similar to the cricket players, we could put a small number on the neck at the back of the jumper to signify their place in history? eg B Gibbs = 1000 - or whatever number he would be - only problem is players debuting on the same day - then alphabetical order would apply.

Would guarantee collectors that they are getting a match worn jumper that's for sure!

It is not uniform through the Blueseum but all players will eventually have their debut number - Smith was 1095, Bower was 1096 and Jackson was 1097

Gibbs has a good chance of being 1098, although if both he and Edwards debut in Round 1, Edwards will get 1098 on account of that funny alphabetical order thing. Hansen is in a similar position...alphabetically speaking.

Interestingly, an additional player was uncovered last year - a Chris Ryan from 1904 or so when they thought it was a different fella with the same name - so all the numbers had to be redone.

thanks Molsey, I am sure there is a marketing opportunity there somewhere, back to that Richmond thing, he lists one of his memorable games as Richmond beating Carlton in the Panasonic Cup in 1988 - I don't recall playing them in the final of this comp, surely he isn't gloating over a pre-season game?

Probably only referring to a round of the Panasonic Cup and not the final.

Scraping the bottom of the barrel gloating over pre-season cup games.

Next thing you know clubs will be re-signing their coaches on the back of winning pre-season competitions. :P

Brilliant stuff Jar, Molsey et.al

FWIW, if afl.com wins and Blueseum doesn't, its the biggest joke since that one about the menstruating Barbie and the packet of tic-tacs

Guys, I'm sure you're all aware of this by now but Molsey puts in a @#$%&! shitload for this club... he's probably (guessing) the biggest unpaid contributor to this club of any of TC's patrons. Somebody at the club SERIOUSLY owes this man a pot of beer or 100

I'm the biggest contributor (by weight), molsey would be the biggest contributor (by hours worked).

Thanks for all the kind words everyone, I know I sound like a broken record but it has been a huge TEAM effort. I just got a bunch of memorabilia sent to me today by some kind TC residents, there are so many contributors, those that have written on the site, those that have provided support, those that have provided data and memorabilia out of the kindness of their heart. Amazing stuff, and it is really only just the beginning.

Molsey for the Board 2008!

Just listened to the interview now, KB had you on for 12 minutes - fantastic effort, you actually took the lead in the interview.

Absolutely brillliantly presented Molsey - articulate and interesting, and they way you tied it all together with the points:

- members gift the club (points the fabric and strength of the club)
- great club history

absolutely awsome - something that other clubs will never get in a million years and a testament to the fact that its only a matter of time when the club will come back to its former leve of greatness.

Good stuff Mols. :)

Didn't give too much away, but enough to whet the appetite of the casual fan. I must admit to being amazed that there's 4000 pages on there already...

Thanks for the support & compliments all - it was a real buzz to talk about the site on mainstream radio. You could tell KB was impressed and it made it really easy to get the messages across; I hope they contact me for the follow up as promised because the hit count has been impressive since then. People are really enjoying it now and the work of all 100 + volunteers is finally hitting fruition - our great history is up there in lights and its fantastic to see.

There's some bloke called tigerman in there now which has got me worried!

tigerman has just added a picture of Maurie Sankey and a bit of colour to the 1982 grand final page, looks ridgy didge. Nice to have what seems to be a considered Richmond perspective.
