Somehow I don't think a hack like Bryan would influence the club in making a choice between GIBBS and the burger.

Correct

Absolutely right - will hvae no impact whatsover. Gibbs is locked away already so no need to speculate....

As for Bryan, disappointing he didn't get a proper crack this year, but reality is it's not a major problem if he departs

Bryan is not a bad player and I thought he should have been in the 1's long befor Archie was getting called up and even Dilbert.

Bryan is a good foward option aswell, we all know he has a huge kick but he leads well and has good set of hands.

Bryan is uncontracted but still on our list?

How does that work?

If he stays next year - is he on the AFL base salary?

If he decides to walk after the draft and before the PSD, (i.e. the Filth make him an offer for two years for example) doesn't that mean that we would have to take another player in the PSD? (because we have to have a minimum number on our list).

Wouldn't it be better to have that chance in the draft?

what is the position.

He is a penetrating kick but I dont agree that he has good hands. He drops too many easy marks IMO.
As for training, Bryan appears to have problems with his knee and I'd say he's quite a bit off general training.
Mostly gym work etc.

Sorry BV, I meant to add when compared to Archie.

BV,
I don't even think he is a great kick either.
Tries to kick the ball too hard and ends up hooking the thing.
Also how ordinary was Pagans tactics in 2005 to use him to take the kicks out from defence. Opposition players always knew where it was going and they zoned off accordingly. Good old Pagan just hasn't got a clue!!!

he'd probably only get a 1 year deal with us. if Collingwood offer 2, and I were him, I'd take it.

I dare say his long-term career prospect with us are slim. Maybe with a better ruckman to play off (Fraser), he might kick on a bit.

wouldn't be over horrified to lose Bryan.

French and DeLuca out and Ackland in :? I don't see how his position in the team has got worse - I would've thought almost better.

Unless there's a young man in the draft we have an eye on

I must watch a different player to other people when it comes to Bryan. The only attribute I can think of is his thumping kick, and I don't even think he's very effective with that!. I certainly don't see any of the other qualities people go on about. If he prospers anywhere I will be staggered.

I hope Collingwood do get him. That means it will be one more player I don't think will ever make it off our list.

You are right. The sheep bleat on and on about how hopeless Ackland is and how pathetic the club is for getting him then they cling to someone like Bryan who is the biggest lemon of them all. I think they just like yelling out woof when he kicks the ball.

He has good mobility for a big man and kicked a great goal against Hawthorn - a banana goal - after taking a huge pack mark.

I would think he would be suited in the forward pocket. He missed a few shots from far out - but closer in he seems to gain confidence.

I think he is worth perservering with..

He will either have to be re-contracted or delisted prior to the PSD. It's too late to delist him before the draft but we can delist him prior to the PSD, which will give us another pick.

I would rather have a pick in the ND than the PSD, but it is too late now to worry about that. One way or another he has to make up his mind. The we can plan on what to do about it.

..personally, i don't rate Bryan too highly.. ..i think he could have potential if played correctly, but i doubt that would happen.. ..he's a one trick pony, but it's a pretty good trick.. ..if we can keep him on a bargain basement contract and use him off the bench as an impact, enforcer type forward player it'd be handy.. ..especially with fisher and waite being as injury prone as they are, and kennedy being so young/fresh and possibly injury prone to boot..

I'd like to see Bryan get some regular games to build his confidence.

My housemate reckons he does not properly extend his arms to the ball.
