Radio man Healy courted by Blues

Quote:
Southern Cross executive and 3AW commentator Shane Healy has been unofficially sounded out for the Carlton chief executive's position despite Michael Malouf surviving another divided Blues board meeting on Tuesday night.

As Carlton's feuding directors remained in dispute yesterday, it has also emerged that director Richard Newton urged president Graham Smorgon to resign on the eve of the Tuesday night meeting.

Richard Newton was also prepared to pay 100k out of his own pocket towards Healeys wages if Malouf would leave....

I was not convinced of Newton when he was appointed but he has done some great things.

Does this mean Lee as a guy who was annointed as the predient in waiting have to move his office next to Mitch?????

Look its all really weird..... but im sure Malouf and smorgon will have another bit in the paper tomorrow telling us how great things are...

Healy is an Essendon* supporter IIRC, but if his last act as the boss of Southern Cross Radio is to sack that tool Dwayne Russell he can have the job for life!

"Essendon* have all the good picks this year"(sic) - Dwayne Russell on 3AW last week.

The Carlton CEO postion must be looking mighty attractive at the moment. I think only a Carlton man would be willing to take it.

Shane would be very effective in the job and would be interested if he did not look like he had blood on his hands. The challenge would be big but he would go gangbusters in this role.

He is interested and for once I know this is a fact as we are related and the question was asked of him last night.

Those of us who have heard him doing commentry would realise Shane Healey would not be the best perrson for Carlton.

I was never a wrap for his commentary, but have heard very good things about his business abilities.

Shane Healy is woeful not just as a commentator but in his role at Southern Cross :? and if he is the best alternative as CEO that the opposition can put up -Michael Malouf would buy and sell this guy about 5 fold
Most of the better posters on this site would be better more intelligent and more sagacious than Shane Healy about footy and business

He has the contacts and the keys to open doors that Malouf doesnt.
A plan was conceived to turn the club around along with Lee and others..
He too has the support of some of the clubs heavy hitters...

What other great things has Newton done Synbad - please enlighten us seeing you seem to know things.

I couldn't see Healy leaving Southern Cross - he has a great job at the moment
