Tuesday was a last stand.
I can't believe that after all the planning, all the plotting that's what it came down to.
For months they've been moving in the background, sourcing money, support. These are supposedly influential and successful business people and this is what they come up with? Asking Smorgan nicely to move on? A vote where they don't have the numbers?
This just doens't make sense to me. I can't believe that was their big shot. Barely a wimper. A pea shooter when I was expecting a bloody nuke.
Under normal circumstances.. a president who has 4 of 9 of his own board supporting him would step down because there is a lack of confidence.
Were talking about Smorgon here..
Yes. I know that, you know that, surely they knew that?
Even so, all this talk of big names, experienced businessmen, knowledge and talent to take us forward and it's just the other half of the current board? Many of the same people who have been involved in the current shenanigans? You've got to be kidding?
They might have been hamstrung by being in the minority, but it doesn't fill me with confidence. Is it just the same jokers with more money? These people (Lee excepted) have been on the board since Elliot was outsted!!!!
Maybe I was just reading what I wanted to read, seeing what I wanted to see but I had these pictures of new, fresh talent and ideas. People with the profile, contacts and knowledge to really take the club forward quickly. I was thinking of names like Pratt (jnr not senior), Mitchell or Fahour. Not those exact names, but of similar profile, reputation and clout. Isn't this what you were hinting at Synbad? Did I get it so wrong?
