Good read and good to see Crosisca (who I wasn't too sure about when first heard he was being brought on as an assistant) echoing the thoughts of many TC experts

In particular:

- wants to release Thornton to be able to play on the third-forward
- sees Carlos filling a key defensive post - possibly full back
- adding Bower and Whitnall, thinks we'll have most teams covered height-wise
- likes what he has seen of Flint and Hartlett
- one of Walker, Lappin, Scotland to play a rebounding role but will have to be accountable

Depending on who may be required to help out in the midfield, Crosisca said he expected Andrew Walker, Heath Scotland and Justin Lappin to fill rebounding, sweeper-type roles in 2007.

I see Carlos continuing to learn our game on the wing....a bit of defence and attack to give him more confidence.

Are you thinking of the same bloke Warbs?

He's got a real attacking flair from the back half of the ground and is showing far more natural aptitude for a defensive post than his forward role.

Taking that into consideration along with his still awkward kicking action on the run and I think the defensive post will allow him round out his game, while still providing a valuable contribution to the team purely on the back of his athletic prowess.

I think you've got 43's in your eyes Warbs. Can't say I'm not with you there sometimes.

Lappin should be used as the attacking half back flanker.
Scotland is too dangerous with his feet and needs to be used all over the ground.

And Walker...well, Walker just needs to be given a bloody go in the middle.

Jim.....I don't think you understand that we all have differing opinions.....you've got to learn to live with it.........and BTW.......what does "43's in your eyes" mean?........what language are you talking ?

Think he's mentioning that when you see a tall athletic guy like Carlos you start reminiscing about Kouta (hence the 43's in your eyes). As for having differing opinions, wasn't Jim just expressing his differing opinion?

I didn't realise Jim had deputies to answer on his behalf however....I do compare Carlos loosely with the young Kouta who learned the trade on the wing; and didn't to my knowledge play in defence for any amount of time.

I'm not arguing here - Carlos may well have the potential, at least athletically, to play his football on the wing - however, his disposal by foot is still a little questionable. Whether or not that is the case, we have been crying out for a big bodied backman for a while and after his game on Barry Hall and the other glimpses we have seen from him playing there, would be silly to now move him. Let him get settled in a position, especially a position where we need him.

Sorry Warbs, didn't mean to sound like I was scoffing at your opinion.

I wish it were true, but I don't think he's got the disposal by foot for a role on the wing just yet.

But the beauty of it is, if all our talls come up and he gets that right (certainly the latter is more likely than the former, but hey) we can just stick him there and have a laugh at the opposition trying to account for him.

Well hello Jim......... ............the reason I'd like to play him on the wing is because he wouldn't have to account for an opponent as much as he would in defence.....and he'd be a real headache to match up on.

Having said that.....I don't care where he plays enough to argue about it....
