The thing I noticed about the letter was the spelling.

The Carlton Football Cub - c'MON!

Great minds think alike. Was thinking the same thing driving home right now.

Great letter. Just a shame Smorgon would have stopped reading after your first sentence. :?

Now tell me who replaces Smorgan when he steps down

If only I knew Sydney, but I'd give Greg Lee my support.

Great work JW.....

I can tell you that Smorgan does not rate TC and does not believe TC has the power to influence an election....Lets all keep the pressure on so he is forced to take notice.....

This letter cannot be pow. Instead, the letter should be POY.

I'm struggling to see what is so wonderful about this letter.

It contains fewer typos than Smorgons.

Good point. It's not mean't to be anything of the sort, but merely one frustrated supporter's venting of his spleen, and the venting might as well be in the culprit's direction.

Great letter Jack....a letter from the heart of a disillusioned supporter.

While I think the letter is well written, and probably represents a lot of the feelings of supporters on this board, it doesn't actually say much. The main points seems to be -

a. Eddie did a great job with Collingwood.
b. We have fiiled our sponsorhips therefore we shouldn't shut up shop. I really doubt this is what we would do.
c. The coaching review was handled poorly. Everyone agrees with that.
d. We should be comepting for finals every year. Realistically you know this is not the case. There is nothing wrong with having a realistic view of your list and it's capabilities. Sponsors know where we are at.

I think it is great we have have supporters as passionate as yourself, and who believe in the club as much as you do. I think this letter though is full of emotion, and little fact of why Smorgon should step down. In the letter you state why we are in this state, (previous mishandling of financials and draft/list), but not as to why you think the current coard should have been able to turn it around so quickly. I would be interested to hear what position you think the club should be in now, especially finacially and sponsorship. People need to remember the Carlton brand was dragged through the mud, and sponsors are not quick to attach themselves with cheats, especially bottom placed cheats. This was the bid difference with the Collingwood example.

Still, a great post though.

Smorgon wouldn't know who Jack Worrall is.

I'm with Carlton God on this one.

No one can doubt the passion, but the purpose of the letter is not that clear to me.

What would you like to happen? And how would you like to get there? And are your key messages in line with SA Blue's summary?

If I was Smorgon I would not know what to do with such a letter. I will be really interested to see if you get a response.

Oh and by the way, I think hiring a PR firm for a financially strapped club is actually a great thing. We need positive spin, we need the creative energy and we need people assoicated with the club that know how to relate to the public. I don't know if we have chosen the right firm, but it is definitely a step in the right direction.

The purpose of the letter is simple. Grahm Smorgon you have 100+ voting members who say your stink, you may not care what TC'ers have to say, maybe you should start to listen if you want to continue at the Club as we have the means to reach those who will make the call on our future.

All we need is 100 members and a simple proposition to have Smorgon removed from the office of President of the Carlton Football Club. The rest will take care of itself. Do we have any lawyers here that canb draft a proper motion? I am sure we can get 100 signatures?
