Picking a ruck at 17 was a mistake as the scum would not have gone for one at 18. So we still could've had Hampson at 19 and gone for Jetta at 17. It was a mistake. Grigg has some critics amongst the forums. I hope they're wrong.

Griggs did make all-australian in 2006 but was overlooked in the 2005 draft. On the other hand Jetta was an all-australian in 2005 and 2006.

I have seen Jetta play the last 2 years at the U/18 championships and he is a gun. He made the All-Australian 2 years in a row, and played senior footy at Sth Fremantle. He is a young version of Andrew Mcleod. He is super quick and has great evasive skills. He also has great goal sense.

Picking Grigg 190cm a flank/midfield type player inside the top 20, brings back past nightmares. Over the years we have had a facination in drafting players around the 187cm to 190cm.

Remember:
Livingston 190cm = dud (pick 4)
Sporn 187cm = dud (pick 11)
Wiggins 187cm = goer but bad disposer (pick 15)
Russell 188cm = ??? nothing special yet (pick 9) hope he proves us wrong
Eccles 187cm = dud (traded for massie 188cm (pick 7)
Vance 187cm = dud (pick 6)

Grigg wasn't the best available midfielder at 19. I rate Jetta, Hislop, Proud and Collard better.

I hope Grigg proves me and any other knockers wrong, but my gut feeling tells me Essendon* will be laughing.

I don't think there's a correlation between height and crapness.

Enough of making Grigg the whipping boy....give the kid a chance ...thought he showed some good moves on the highlight package of him and seemed accomplished....
i think leadership skills once again are at the forefront of Wayne Hughes thinking....Jetta reads like a brat...Grigg reads like he has some leadership qualities and is a good kid....

I'm on the Bannister and Grigg bandwagon for 2007.....go the Griggster
