Bring it on .... I am just missing it so much already.

My team would be

Carrazzo O'hAilpin Saddington
Lappin Thornton Scotland
Gibbs Stevens Simpson
Waite Kennedy Whitnall
Betts Fevola Fisher

R: Ackland, Walker, Murphy

I: Blackwell, Russell, Bower, Koutoufides

E: Bentick, Houlihan, Mclaren, Hartlett

I tell u what ... when u look at the side .. its not too bad .... hard to fit everyone in. Of course there are weaknesses ... so ....

am i being too optimistic?

Looks like this years team with Gibbs and Ackland.

Nearly every player bar a couple of oldies can or will improve next year. I think we can win at least 6 or 7 games next year.

Saddington will have to earn his position - can't see him walking straight in.
Carrazzo - not better than Houla.
Only 1 ruckmen for the game? I know, there is not much room.
Whitnall's best footy in years came from playing down back...

Otherwise - I like it.

Fair comment...I think Gibbs plus a level of improvement across the list should result in a few more wins....Saddington wouldnt be in my lineup, purely a backup for injury IMHO ... Hartlett, Bower and Flint would be getting a game ahead of him if I was coaching....

Hartlett MUST play FB from day one regardless of how we're going. He needs to make that spot his own. Use Setanta if Hartlett doesn't come up.

Some of these blokes could be changed around a bit, but basically this would be my round 1 squad.

We won't win games with Carrazzo in the team.

Blackwell will be a great player and should be included on the field.

Still have some weak links in terms of experience and runs on the board. I'll be happy with 6-8 wins and NO floggings.

FF - ZANTUCK

Don't need anything else and we'll absolutely thump them.

Gee - we're relying a lot on Murph and Blackwell to 'EXTRACT' the footy. I really hope Blackers starts to watch Sam Mitchell vidoes over summer and see what an important cog in that team he is.

Too many unacountable recievers in a few of those line ups for my liking.

That's basically my team i selected last night. Tough for spots next year if everyone improves as we hope they do.

With that backline, we'll have the best defence in the comp.
