Emergencys are named so that if someone from the starting 22 has to pull out for whatever reason, the coach is able to bring in one emergency per omission from the starting 22.

Hope that helps.

However, I'm shattered that I won't be able to attend and watch Setanta fookin' hit someone. I have my own football game to participate in as this week I've been promoted to the Mitcham reserves. Pretty excited, but damn my ability to impress the senior coaches at Mitcham.

PJ - our interstate and non eastern suburbs posters probably don't know that Mitcham wear Richmond jumpers and sing that silly song when they win!

Good luck - but perhaps you should wear a blues t shirt underneath to make you feel right!

Outside of the AFL, the Mitcham strip is a mighty strip.
However, inside the AFL the yellow and black can burn in hell.

Surely the smart move would be to put Hartlett on the LTI list. We don't need to rush back a long term defence KP prospect.

If he plays it is a brillant tactical move by Pagan. You can't just leave a 198cm player running around loose in the forward line. Wallace would either need to put Hall onto Setanta (which frees up Waite to kick a bag), or bring one of his "triangle" back to play on the Irishman.

On a certain level, Setanta doesn't even need to do anything. His mere presence would screw up any plans the Tigers have likely made. If he happens to put in a Walker-esqe debut and kick 2-4 goals then that would just be a bonus for us,

And just adding to that Beano, this week there are at least two players named in the starting 22 who are unlikely to play, so there is at least a fair chance he'll get a game.

Camporeale set to overcome injury

Quote:
Carlton vice-captain Scott Camporeale last night was rated a good chance by his coach Denis Pagan to make a surprise appearance for the Blues in tomorrow's game against Richmond at the MCG.

Quote:
Andrew Carrazzo (calf) and Callum Chambers (leg) also were rated an outside chance to play, although both headed into the rooms after a light handballdrill. Pagan named Cory McGrath and Ian Prendergast as possible replacements for the pair.

Maybe, maybe not...

The Blues this week promoted Setanta O'hAilpin off the rookie list in place of the injured Brad Fisher and last night named him as one of three emergencies.

But Fisher was meant to be a few weeks away from resuming in the VFL?

Something not right here.

fisher on LTI

i actually dont mind that - may sound strange - but i think we need to take a softly softly approach with Fish.

his injury is normally a 12 month recovery period and there where talks of him coming back in 8. IMO i think that is taunting danger and could risk further injury.

A shame for Fisher for sure, i love him, reckon he is a great forward, but would prefer him sit out this season, get a full pre-season behind him and come in next year absoutlely flying.

And - great move by pagan IMO.

Holding back santy's promotion is a master stroke. It builds up the desire in Santy wanting to play, it leaves the "media heat" off santy with him being on the rookie list, great move all round.

I hope he comes in.

im excited, just as much as anyone else.

BUT

lets not get to carried away and remember this is only going to be his first game of AFL, if he does infact start playing, so lets not expect him to come straight up and kick a bag, would love him too, but as long as he is committed and plays his heart out, that is all i ask.

He will make mistakes, he will drop marks, he will make some clangers so lets not get down on him, like we have a few others, and support him regardless.

Its an amazing scenario really - 3 years ago he had never kicked a footy and now he will run on the MCG against Richmond in front of 70,000 in the beloved Navy Blues -its could be a "tele-movie" :D

Thats a sentence not a word but I would love it to happen.
Nobody is mentioning that Kouta is picked at CFB.
Surely you would try Prenda there. I know Pendra has been tried in positions before and has proved better on the ball, but Richmond does not have a dominant CHF.
Kouta got to be in the middle
