WE have months to wait for round one. So I thought as a TC team we could create a fictional game to fill in time - much like a choose your own adventure. Each post will be a possession and will move it back or forth depending on how they're feeling.

When there have been enough posts feel free to call quarter time. Make coaching comments, be the boot studder if you want, carry oranges and then bring on the next quarter... Let the game begin!

Note- if you make a post and realise someone else beat you to that possession please edit your post to keep the game flowing.

I'll start...

Its a packed stadium as the siren sounds for the first quarter, Carl v Rich.
Ackland lines up opposite to Knoble. Both players are nervous - as are the crowd. After all, it is round one and everyone's keen for the ump to start with the first bounce of the season. Up goes the ball, down and bounce, both players run in with Ackland taking the honors (to the delight of the Carlon faithful) and palms it off too...

The 2005 No 1 draft pick, the Messiah, Marc Murphy - who shrugs the tackle of Kane Johnson and kicks the ball downfield....

P.S - Commentators can now reveal that Simmonds has been a late withdrawal for the Tigers being replaced by Knoble

...Cameron Cloke

...which is weird because he's with the Tigers now :P

Cloke turns to his father in the front row of the Southern stand for some advice. Dad craps on long enough for Whits to make up some ground & lay a beautiful tackle on CC!

Holding the ball says the umpire - free kick Whitnall. 40m out.

Big Red spots Betts all alone in the pocket and spears a short pass to the mercurial one who ducks around Bowden and goes the checkside. GOAL to Eddie! 8)

Back to the center square. The ball is bounced by the central umpire. It's a bad bounce though as it goes the way of Knobel.

But wait! Gibbs pounces on Knobel and the ball spills to Murphy. Murphy takes a run just outside center square and spots...

Setanta! Who has run off Richo and left him in his wake. This fella looks like a monster, and the crowd love him. He looks down field, and sees Fev being double-teamed by two Richmond low-lifes.. instead, Setanta fakes going to the left, and then dashes off to the right, darting down the wing with a mad glint in his eye, looking for...

Morrell, but realising he no longer plays for the club, instead lines it up towards Betts again, who is really getting ahead of his opponent this game, and looks set for a HUGE 07'... Betts runs so fast he over-runs the ball, and Richmond looks set to gather the crumbs...

But Lance aint interested and only reaches for the water. This new Capt has finished with his old ways and makes a quick run to Paul the barman and drags him from the field - where he's issued a $6,000 fine for being on the ground...

And while all these shanagans have been going on the Tiges have run the ball down deep into Carlton's defence where...

Matty Lappin has been knocked to the ground in a behind-the-play incident... having not seen the strike, the umpire lets play continue, but Polos quick receive and miss leave the ball in Bowers hands as he takes the kick-in...

one point to Richmond...

Look at you lot going on and on about Murphy and Gibbs. Probably the same lot that were so desperate to win a couple of extra games so we wouldn't get the dreaded wooden spoon.

Don't forget Morrell, he's gotten a guernsey in this game too.

It's Carl v Rich & the scoreboard catches fire just for old times' sake.

Helen d'Amico expected soon.

Carlton 1.0.6
Rich 0.1.1
