...or three year plan

....or 12 month plan ????

An interesting throwaway line in this articlehttp://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/footy/common/story_page/0,8033,20912931%255E20322,00.html got me wondering if Pagan has such a beast....

Quote:
WEST Coast premiership coach John Worsfold yesterday gave the Australian team an enlightening pep talk to help inspire the world champions to conquer their own Everest.

Worsfold and his team tasted the ultimate success in the AFL this year when they shrugged off the Sydney Swans to win the Grand Final by a point.

It was the culmination of a detailed five-year plan by the Eagles coach.

Here's our five year plan:

2005 Finish last, get early picks.

2006 Finish last, get early picks.

2007 Put pressure on kids to perform.

2008 Expect kids to get us into the finals, and into the black.

2009 Challenge for premiership. Sit back and congratulate ourselves on cunning plan.

Do you know what the five year plan looks like?

When was the last time you saw it?

Do you have reason to believe why someone would steal it?

Awww...that's sad ...I didn't know that. He was legend at PP...could hit a customer with a bag of peanuts from 20 yards.

Son of peanut guy would be honoured to take over I'm sure.

Yeah, turned out he was allergic to nuts - fancy that... what a shame. :(

This is what irks me, people complain that Pagan hasn't done anything and that he should get the boot - but if you cast your mind back to when he took the reins he told us that it wouldn't be easy and that it was looking to be a 5 year turnaround to get back to the top...

IIRC next year is our fourth year? We're over halfway! 8)

Just because we don't hear about it how do we know that there's no plan (five years or otherwise) in place?

Based on the year that we have had OFF the field, I would say that we have no plan whatsoever.

But if they want to admit there is a plan based on the year that we had, then I would encourage them to LIE about having one.

Plan? What plan?

Success in even the most basic business requires a plan.

If the plan isn't working - amend it.

If it still isn't working amend it again. Keep it fluid. Look for ways to maximise the return on all of the effort that is being invested.

No matter how much we are told (or not told) that the Blues have a plan it is evident after this long in the wilderness that the plan is either;

- not working; OR
- not being amended; OR
- there is no ----- plan.

FFS we have just recruited Cameron Cloke. What sort of plan could possibly include the recruitment of Cameron Cloke!

regards
Ockham

Well for what it's worth, Carlton has since the season finished publicly come out and said (I don't have the links but they should be readily accessible) that they are definitely working to a plan - admittedly you wouldn't always think this was the case but certainly Smorgon has publicly claimed that there is a plan in place.

A good leader would communicate at least the basis of the plan to the members and set some benchmarks against which to judge performance. They may have a plan. but whats the use if they do not bring the members along with them. Frankly - I doubt whether they have one, or if they do -that its any good!
