I suppose if he does put a ticket together he'll announce what his policies and platform is to turn the ship around. Will he?

Elliott has been approached by a series of powerful Carlton supporters.

Elliott refused to comment when contacted yesterday by The Age and would not respond to speculation that cardboard magnate Dick Pratt would fund a challenge to wipe out most of the Carlton board and pay out coach Denis Pagan.

How I hate the BS that comes out when some mystery person comes to light in a possible Board room powerplay- powerful Carlton supporters! :(

The old Dick Pratt will bail us out of our misery - just waiting for everything to fall into place, so that he can make his move. :(

I'm drowning in all this crap.

Hey - guess what - I agree with King Kerna!!

Tom's a great bloke - very different from his old man and I for one would support him to the hilt. I am a little concerned that he might not be quite ready for this task - but i'm sure it would come with some money...I've never believed a Pratt story - Dick Pratt has a lot on his plate right now - so the timing of that doesn't seem right - but as far as Tom is concerned - he's a positive PR man as well as a money man. Synbad?

While his passion for Carlton has been inherited from his father, Elliott has been quoted as saying his business influences came from elsewhere.

Got my vote!

His problem will be his family name. A lot of people have still very negative feeli ngs towards John E - this might reflect on his son - even if not justified.

Bit to think about ....Tom Elliott backed by Pratt and some of his old mans buddies.....and now I read in the Herald Sun that Stephen Moulton and Mark Harrison want to challenge for positions on the board and have the backing of Fraser Brown and Greg Williams....Moulton and Harrison are believed to be willing to work with Smorgon.

Elliott will have some appeal to the old faithfull who associate Jack with success but the Elliott name will make younger members uneasy and Fraser Browns attempted coup last time went horribly wrong....

I think if either party are willing to pay out Denis Pagan it will have massive appeal to the rank and file members...I would like to know a lot more about the short and long term planning before I would commit to either of the two parties......
